Apple’s next iPhone to have thinner screen: WSJ

Apple Inc’s next iPhone will use a new technology that makes the smartphone’s screen thinner, the Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the matter.

Who honestly cares how thin the screen is. Once it gets to a certain thickness it really doesn't matter and if anything it is a negative as a ridiculously thin screen just means it will be easier to break.

By thin screen, they are not only talking about the topmost glass layer, which is the part that usually breaks first. A screen or rather display is made up of several layers, and these new technologies will significantly reduce the size of these layers or eliminate some of these layers altogether.

Thinner screen equals increased power efficiency, as well as more space available for a bigger battery. So, yes we all do care, even though we don't know it yet.
