Hi all,

Once again a problem as usual :p

Just wondering if anyone can help as I have done quite a bit of reading but found no solution.

Im trying to get Network Support going in the BartPE live cd. Reason being I would like to store Driveimage XML images on the network as our only external DVD reader/writer has packed up and it doesn't seem like these guys will be getting a new one.

So I find out that there are problems loading the Dell Broadcom Net Xtreme 57xx drivers. Some people have managed to get it right but their explanation is beyond my understanding.

I have added a driver pack plugin that includes drivers for the Net Xtreme 57xx and burned a new bartpe image to disk but it still says "Network Adapter Not Found".

Any ideas?

I have had so many issues with network drivers, in winpe 1.5, I have given up...

The new Vista PE (2.0) has a new feature called "drvload" - you can load drivers on the fly, no reboots necessary!

Download and extract the drivers (using only the winxp files/directory) to pebuilder313\drivers\Net\BCM57xx
Recompile bartPE iso and write.

drivers directory should look something like this:
Directory of C:\Transfer\pebuilder313\drivers\Net

2007/06/21 09:19 AM <DIR> .
2007/06/21 09:19 AM <DIR> ..

OK i created the BCM57xx folder and copied the extracted Broadcom XP drivers...there were only three files.

BartPE now picks up the Broadcom device and the adapter works perfect...I can ping any PC on the network :)

However..problem again:

I cannot access any shares or if I try Go\Run \\servername it does nothing. As there are domains I check to see if I can Map drives but I only see an empty WORKGROUP.

Also when I started the DHCP network in BartPE it succesfully loaded the adapter but I got DriverNodes not found for:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2772&SUB..........long long name.

Just a question repitah: The Intel1000 and P5GD2 were specific to your setup or not?? because I omitted those and just used BCM57xx folder.

As you can see im new to BartPE and live CD's in general

Any ideas anyone??

The fact that I can ping any local IP and 127.0.0.1 and get a reply tells me the adapter is working perfectly.

What is missing??

:p Come on man !!! Dont give up lol :)

Well if I don't come right I reckon I will get myself an external HDD. That should solve all my image problems :D

Try going into command prompt and doing a "net view" "net use" after you've run the PE network configurator (actually, try using the file share / map drive facility there)

Also try using a VM to load the iso (saves you from bouncing between computers / rebooting) to test
