Hi there before I phone telkom and wait another 6 hours
Does everyone get nightsurfer on capped accounts.

I have signed up for the line and bundle of ten gigs per month for 2mb
 
Yes. On the exact same account(R220) and do around 150 Gigs per month.
 
Sorry if this was discussed.

But is there no limit on the nightsurfer time even if you are capped on 10 gb per month?

As long as you have data on your capped account (and you can top that up), then you will have access to the Night Surfer add-on.

Your data usage will be limited by your line speed (2Mbps) and if your DSLAM is congested.
 
You only get full line speed during nightsurfer while you are still within your 10 gb cap, but there is no download limit, your only limiting factor is line speed. Once your 10 gb is finished your speed is throttled. I average 4.5 gb per morning, when throttled It takes 8 hours to do 1 gb so 3 gb per day.

Once you have used you 10GB cap you can top up your account account with more data and your line speed is also restored.
 
I'm on a 4mb capped Telkom account. I can do 310-320gigs a month during the night surfer time.
 
So nightsurfer is available to anyone that has telkom softcap?

My scheduler did not kick in last night :( so I will have a look tonight.
 
Yup night surfer is unlimited and you can see how much you have used so far for the month by clicking on the addons link in the usage tracker. It also shows you how much of the free anytime social media data you used like facebook,whatsapp ect ect ect

Ok great I have done 5 gig on my 2mb line last night unfortunately all errors out due to missing or corrupt archives.

So I am thinking I need to change some of my providers.
I Have Negtgennews as my host and newztown as my indexer with SANZB as my downloader.
Between the first two I have some issues but I will discuss this in another thread that is currently running on the ADSL thread.

I just signed up for the 20gbs 50gb soft capped account for R601pm which seems like very good value for money!

Do you guys have to reset your router at 00:00 to get the nighttime surfer data? I saw some people complaining about that a while back but the telkom person on the phone said they fixed it!?

No reset required.

In theory all new DL's from 00h00 are tagged as night surfer...

BUT

Safest is to schedule your DLs to start at 00h05 and end at 06h55.
