Nintendo Switch Game Recommendations?

Same, I just want to fix my drift issue. Nothing like playing ACNH and as soon as you hit the rocks the avatar changing positions.
I have 2 Pro controllers and wanted to get:

However, it looks like Zelda is smoking from her throat so I didnt buy

That must be the Marlboro edition of the Zelda controller. Looks good though.

It's seems to be the same 2/3 controllers on sale whether on Raru, Takealot or BT Games. There's a red Mario controller that looks cool but is wired. While cheaper, I don't want to be tethered to the console so that Zelda one looks enticing and the BT Games website has it under R1000.

I contacted the guys at Nintendo SA and they don't have stores in Durban but can arrange for courier collection and repair of the Joy Con. Need a controller to play while the JC is in for repairs so am seriously tempted to go for that Zelda one

Thanks for info. Also looking to get what I paid for fixed. Its just looks like Zelda smoked too much on that PowerA controller

So I went ahead and ordered the controller. Zelda's tobacco habits aside, I really like the design of the controller.

Took the option to pick it up at the Gaeway branch and as per their T&C's, hope it doesn't take that long

"In Store Collection

If you elect to collect your order from a store, please wait for confirmation via SMS or email that your item is ready for collection at your chosen store. Do not go to collect until this has occurred, an email from PayGate confirming your payment does not suggest your order is ready for collection. It could take up to14 days for store to receive stock for your order."

I will also contact Nintendo SA for my issue

Regarding price increase, I am looking into controller alternatives as my right Joy-Con is giving me drifting issues and boy the price increase is noticeable. Joy-cons were around R1200 and now seem to be R1600 if you are lucky and seen them up to close to R2500 even!

Will look into seeing if I can repair my Joy-Con first
You could do the repair yourself for fairly cheap.
Alternatively if you are in the city of Cape Town I could help you out with the repairs

Thanks, but I am on the other coast. Is it easy to do? Looking at Youtube vids my best bet to simply swop out the joy stick unit. Any idea where I can get the part? I've looked on Bidorbuy but am uncertain still.

Its very easy to do yeah.. you just need the tri-wing screw driver to take the covers off, then a normal small Philips head screw driver . Will see if I can find a link to tri-wing and a good YT vid for you

I've used the generic analog sticks in 3 joycons so far without any issues

If you want analog sticks taken out of an official Joycon, you'll pay a bit more

Awesome, will have a look. And if I fix it myself can earn some man points.

You say you've had no issues with the 3rd party analog sticks? They don't feel cheap and weird? While I would prefer the original one, not at R450
Just find a quiet spot to work and take your time lol. It really is very easy to do

No issues at all with the 3rd party ones. Aside from the fact that it has no drift like the Nintendo ones  in all seriousness though, I cant even tell the difference between the replacements and the one original one left

Give this man a bells. I placed the order through xmods Friday evening and received order today (shout out to them too). I've just opened the Joy Con and swopped out the stick. The screws and attachment was a bit fiddly but after closing it back up and calibrating it, it's working perfectly.

Assuming everything has been put back correctly, it should last a while

Seeing as this is basically the Switch thread.

Bit of a long shot but does anyone have an extra power supply they aren't using? Dunno maybe your switch got ganked or you got an extra with a switch light.

Our ****ing rabbit bit straight through the cable and I can't rejoin it because Nintendo doesn't know what the USB-C standard is and didn't colour code the wires.

Sorry man, that sucks. I remember when the dogs decided to munch the power supply and cable for the sensor bar on the Wii back in the day. Was really annoyed.

Having a look online I see the Switch AC is like R600/R700...madness. If I recall correctly, non approved docks and AC adaptors caused a few issues with Switches so going off brand could be risky. I'll keep an eye out if I find anything as I am doing a few searches lately on all things Switch

Ordered the Zelda controller from BT Games for R965. Just got a call now to collect. Having a look now the price has gone up. Seems me buying the item made them realise they should be charging more :)

Had to do what you said:

I went the Nintendo route and damn their support sucks. No answers on email

Nintendo responded to my emails quite promptly but beyond that can't really speak about their service. I wasn't keen to wait 2 weeks. But happy that I went the DIY route as it really wasn't too difficult. The new thumbstick is working perfectly and indistinguishable to the original one.

Must say as well that while I enjoy the Zelda controller, I still tend to mostly use the Joy-Cons connected to that black thingy. I don't have large hands so find it comfortable

Out of interest did nintendo sort that massive data hack/breach from a few months back ?

Is the eShop safe to use now ? I'm tempted to fire up my switch again but kinda worried :)
