Nintendo Switch Game Recommendations?

I'll take that and raise you N64

Fwoar....
Go easy on me, I just had dinner.
This is why we have Apple. I'm sorry they didn't get into consoles.

Oh my god. Where were you before I just ordered a grip thing for my Switch!

That looks incredible. Love the A/B/X/Y layout.

Oof, can't say I'm keen to return to the actual controller shape. Just the A/B/X/Y button arrangement would be nice. In any case, doesn't much matter. The thing I've ordered from Skull & Co. looks amazing and has a big case to store the beefed up Switch in.

I've heard good things about those. Been tempted but the pro controller has served me well for 6 years now

I share a pro controller with my son so probably use the joy cons in their holder thing about 50% of the time, and tbf to me that is as good as the pro controller really. If we didn’t have the pro controller in the house I’d be perfectly happy with just the joy cons and the dock which makes it into one.

The only thing I don't like about the joy cons is the position of the right thumb stick, I always have to contort my hand to reach it. Otherwise I love it too, unattached is also cool

I would say it's worth sticking to the first-party pro controller.
  • Outstanding build quality
  • Has Amiibo support
  • Has gyro built-in which you need for many first-party games, especially BotW & TotK. I would not want poor gyro in a controller.
  • Battery life is excellent
  • Rumble quality is also excellent
Console controllers aren't cheap, and Nintendo's is more expensive than the DualSense and Xbox Series ones. But those controllers don't have gyro, NFC, or the same battery life. I say just invest in the Real McCoy.
BULL

PS3, 4, 5 and 8Bitdo have Gyro
Xbox, 8Bitdo & PS5 have Rumble PS5 in fact is way better than Nintendo Pro.
Xbox and 8bitdo outlive Nintendo Pro big time.

The only place Nintendo Pro is superior is NFC support

That alone in my view does not validate the price.

Just leaving this here: :)

Hmm, how about that. I wonder why I don't recall any PS4 or PS5 games using gyro. Not sure I agree that the rumble in the Xbox Series controllers is equal to or better than the Switch Pro Controller, because the Xbox rumble feels really poor to me, but either way not a big deal.

I still love my Pro Controller. It hasn't aged a day, build quality is rock solid, and in all the games I play it's nice to see the controller I'm using reflected in the game's UI.

This is just my personal preference too, but I massively prefer the Xbox/Nintendo analogue stick positions over the Sony style.

It sits nicely for me. When I pick up the Pro controller after not using for a while I keep hitting the wrong direction on the arrow pad and usually end up whistling on a horse when I'm trying to pick a shield or something :p

Did not say Xbox is better saying it has rumble, PS5 on the other hand is waaaay better.

I get you and so does 8Bitdo: :p

For me it depends on the game type.
3rd person Xbox is better.
Platformers and retro nothing beats PS style.

The biggest point for me on opting for 3rd party is the swapping of buttons cause one thing that grinds my gears is that Xbox and PS5 flow match but Nintendo goes nope Imma do my own thing:

Its a bitch when you play same game on diffrent console Example Diablo 2.

With 8Bitdo I can just make Nintendo match the other 2.

Couldn't agree more with the button ordering. Does my head in having A/B/X/Y in the 'wrong' position on the Switch.

Although I wonder who actually got there first...

In reality is a Japanese thing..
PS4 and prior followed Nintendo only in Japan and swapped for the rest of the world
PS5 is the 1st time Sony forced Japan to follow the West.

Oh and west got it from Sega.

But you right Sony Japan got it from Nintendo. :)

Sadly I grew up in "Sega world"

I wonder why it was ever done that way. It just seems weird to have buttons read YX and BA.

Maybe they just felt really strongly that A must be in the most ergonomic position, end of story.

I suspect patent law came into play?
Sega "copied" Nintendo in the second Gen but had to change something as to not blatantly copy.

Now where do I buy one of those 8bitdo's? Specifically the one in the 2nd video
