I don't think the current one is ugly, but here is the next one...

Drove a new CDi 6 speed manual yesterday . Car looks terrible , inside is very plastic, steers like ship, but man that Diesel engine is very very impressive .
Quite undecided on that one, I guess more is better? A while back I did have a thread about the small things about cars that people love/hate http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=478144Yes that's a deal breaker on any car, how any person in his right mind could ever even consider driving a car where not all the windows have auto up and down is unthinkable .
What's your feeling on two cigaret lighter plugs, deal breaker ?
Thread necro: Is it my imagination or do 2nd hand X-trails (1 - 4 years old) tend to have quite high mileage? I've been more focused on those on cars.co.za available in the western cape but it does seem to be a trend countrywide.

From what I've heard, the CVT costs about R60k to replace at the dealers. Half that for a refurb... Also the reason I didn't keep my Patriot, when it reached the end of its maintenance plan.

Are they known to fail, though?
At high milage, any CVT is a bit of a gamble... but as a post above mentions, it is apparently not a CVT in the diesel. I really thought they were all CVT's.
Nissan Murano CVT replacement with a refurb cost me 42k - dealers wanted over 60k
