Is anyone experiencing problems with news server downloads. Mine are farting along at 9.3kB/s. Is this a general issue or what. My torrents seem to be fine

Nothing wrong with NNTP, must be your ISP, or your ADSL cable , or your Router , or your News Host , or just your PC .......

It's more than likely the usenet server or your ISP. 10KBps is more or less what you get on uncached files during the day on SAIX and IS (their usenet servers, that is). IS is pretty much always trash though.
