NO 24 hour support?!?!?!?!?

I can't find any way to contact Afrihost after hours, looking on their website. All the chats aree offline and the Whatsapp option as well. It is very conspicuous - the absence of any 24 hour contact details. Also sent "Help" to 32541 - and NOTHING.

My issue is that I cannot download a file from Github. It is pretty dang urgent. The download (only 41mb) keeps on failing with a Network Error. Browsing and downloading from all other sites, Youtube etc, working like a charm.

Does Afrihost throttle Github?

Mind boggling that I cannot get any help at 9:37 pm from Afrihost. PATHETIC!!!!

Everything works fine except for one site, and it is now Afrihost's fault???

How do you think they could help you? And what made you assume they would be there at 21h30? The only 'pathetic' I see here is you.
 
So tired of seeing idiots posting threads such as this one, making a big deal out of a small thing.

Its cause of people like you the reps on here are busy putting out unnecessary flames instead of providing actual support.

Lol @ this, I suggest looking at your Anti Virus deleted files folder, you will find it there, Github doesn't play well with some browsers either, try IE, it usually works, it gets flagged for security reasons and either gets deleted or stops the download from completing, ie "network error"

EDIT: Chrome I'm guessing?

We definitely don't block Github - if we did, none of our developers would be very happy or get any work done :)

If this only affects a single file download, it may be an issue with that particular file. I would definitely follow some of the suggestions here to make sure you get that file to finish your project, but maybe run some traceroutes for us so we can see why this is giving you hassles. Otherwise a link to the file might help so we can try to replicate.
 
Maybe don't leave it till the last second?

Despite all my isues with Afrihost and my dislike for them at the moment I don't see how any of this is their problem.

That said, I'm a little surpised they don't have 24 hours support. I'd assume most large ISP's did, even if just a single person. Guess I've never needed it, so never been an issue.
 
Axxess offers 24 hour support. I havent used Axxess in years so I cant speak to the effectiveness of the support.

The other day I phone Afrihost at 19:15 only for the automated voice to tell me they are closed, yet the site shows 8pm.
 
To be fair, Afrihost doesn't have proper support during the day either, so not sure what you were expecting.

That aside, how does one come to the conclusion that its the ISP's fault that you can browse to the file over the internet via a link that you probably got on email, but cannot download said file? People are too quick to blame service providers and that's probably why their support is so busy sorting out random crap rather than proper tech issues

My guess is that this is not true.
You can send the email 24 hours a day, but responses will only be attended to during "support" hours

We may have closed early on that specific day to address tickets. You can always find Whatsapp support or social media assistance at that time as well.

Otherwise, just log a call back request in ClientZone and let us call you back.

Our team is here 24/7, but certain channels close at certain times. Our email support and SMS call back ("Help" to 32541) never close though.
