Or am I in the wrong sub-forum?

Anyway, got my 3DS yesterday, along with SSF IV 3D and Pilotwings Resort, which are both lots of fun, but I am having more fun with the built in software like the AR cards and Face raiders!

Anyone else?

Yeah looks like the 3DS is not much of a seller in SA... But thanks 4ss4ssN, I joined nintendofansa, it looks good so far

Its not much of seller cause of the way this country is sometimes when marketing these things. Sometimes they take ages to bring out games to south africa so people rather wait for games then buy 3ds now.

Got my one on Saturday and also got Super Street Fighter 4.
Loving it... the DS was awesome and so is the 3DS \:D/

Can't wait for the eStore, wanna get those old school games lol.

To be honest - it's nothing to do with marketing.

The Core group (Distributors of Nintendo in South Africa) has done an amazing job in setting up events, adverts and a launch party for the 3DS. They're giving it all to promote awareness of Nintendo and the 3DS. The South African launch of the 3DS was on time and to the same standard as the European launch - we have enough consoles and games available.

The problem is South African consumers and "gamers". Most gamers consider Nintendo's consoles and games inferior to that of Xbox360, PS3 and PC. They think Nintendo's target audience is children and "casual" gamers. Most "hardcore" gamers (Which I consider myself to be) has never even played The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Super Smash Bros Brawl or any of the other amazing titles for the Wii and DS. The situation isn't helped by gaming magazines (NAG) which bluntly removed any games for Nintendo consoles from the publication.

We've all seen what stereotypes and word-of-mouth advertising can do (look at BlackBerry for instance). The fault lies with the general South African gaming community. They should realise that Nintendo has been in the game from the very start - in fact - they are the founding fathers of modern video gaming. I find it laughable that people insult Nintendo's products without ever setting hands on any of their products.

Do you remember how gamers ridiculed Nintendo's Wii? How they mocked the Wii Remote and laughed off the idea of motion controlled gaming? What about Kinect and the PS Move (which is basically a direct copy of the Wii Remote).
