No ADSL after lighting strike, help needed with Telkom...

Hi all,

I had lighting take out my pc and adsl last week friday, I replaced the router and I get DSL lights but no internet.
I have logged a call with Telkom and had the engineer there yesterday, we tested and there is dial tone so the analog portion is working, however the less the capable engineer wants to leave it at that stating its my router. I asked him to test with his router and he couldn't even set the thing up, I did the work and same story.

He was persistent on closing the call, but I refused. What else could I advise these chaps to do as I am not sure what else they need to try, apart from moving me to another DSLAM port?

Any advice would be appreciated

PM TelkomZA with the fault number and what's going on as you detailed in your first post.

Might take a day or two but I'm sure he'll get you sorted.
