I am in the Plumstead area of the Westen Cape.
For the last 3 days I have no data axcess. At work its ok......
Anyone have any ideas.
Thanks
Johnathan

I had a similar problem. Probably also for about three days but mine started when MTN buggered up and suspended my account after accidentally trying to debit someone else's account and get it returned! Anyway, after discovering this after a long conversation with them they reinstated my line.

Unfortunately for three days I was still unable to get data access. I eventually phoned yesterday and after speaking to two useless individuals a technical guy admitted that it seemed they had reinstated my voice line but not my data. He reset something, told me to remove my sim, and try again in an hour or so. I did and I was back.

Not sure if this will help with your issue at all?

Same issue here. No data access at home in the Constantia area or at work in Woodstock area. While travelling in other areas of Cape Town eg City - random 3G access. Damn irritating as hell! Anyone know how to resolve this?

Logged a call with MTN. Seems that a number of people have reported the same issue ............ so they now have a spreadsheet of names and cell numbers and are tracking the issue. Lets hope that someone actually actions this. Come MTN - up your game on this and get it resolved asap!

My business partner in the Illovo area is having this problem this morning. Connected by no throughput. 2gig data bundle using an E272 modem...

I stay in Edgemead and for the last week have had pathetic reception with my e220 modem. Didnt use modem over weekend as wasnt home so cant comment for those 2 days but today has once again been shockingly slow. How am I supposed to run a business when reception almost doesnt exist? MTN, you should be providing a service to you customers. If you do not know what the word 'service' means, look it up in a dictionary......

Edgemead i know about, its being worked on. Ive spoken to my CPT colleagues and they have advised that they are running random tests as they are not aware of specific problems at the moment, il push for answers tomorrow, i cant understand how you guys would have such a problem and they dont know....if it was my area i would be on them like a rabid dog:twisted:

Yep, I've also been struggling lately between Diep River and Newlands.

When I do intermittently get one the connection gets dropped pretty often even though my phone says it is connected and I'm lucky if I get EDGE.
