No Dial Tone, But DSL Works!

I have to make important calls, now it's rainy outside and the DIAL tone died.

DSL works fine though:

No dialtone either. DSL I'd also down though. Just died during the course of the day and it didn't rain in Pretoria as far as I know...

DSL will work on only one wire . I had that with my line one leg of the line was broken

Sometimes the whole line dies and I only see red lights, but that's apparently telkom doing maintenance on the exchange.

When I had that problem the other day after a thunderstorm I found it was my pots filter . After replacing it worked.

unfortunately we don't have thunder that much. Today we had 0 thunder.

Analog Port in exchange may be DIS , ore at POTS side on DSLAM , ore 1 leg dis in Cable side , line test will tell

The neighbours ' phone works but they don't have ADSL so I'm thinking that that has something to do with it.

@elriconess Report a line fault after you have tested all your equipment connected to that line.
