Hello

I lost internet access after load shedding on Saturday.
My computer connects to my WiFi router but "No Internet Access" is displayed in the notification panel.

I've contacted 10210 for help, which I have been on-hold for ages BTW, they "reset the line" (I don't know what that was supposed to do) but it didn't work.
Then they had me reset all my details on 10.0.0.2, the admin page, but that also didn't work, after 30 minutes the consultant gave up and supplied me with a reference number. He said someone else will call me to rectify the matter.

Does anyone know what I can do to solve this?
I'm very cranky without internet at home.

okay, this might be a toughee depending on your knowledge. the way i see it we need to start from the beginning. which is first logging onto your router and checking if the line is still syncing.

make and model of router please..

Hello Zuner

Its a D-LINK DSL-2750U

Do you know how to log into your router? If you do, look for a page like this:
Statistics.jpg
If not, just say and we'll help you get there. If you can get to the stats page, can you screenshot and upload to this thread?

How do I insert a picture here?
I have it

in the quick reply box at the bottom of the thread to insert a picture click the third from the top right icon icon.JPG then a box will appear box.JPG make sure "from computer is selected the so you can see the screen above the n select choose file and find it on your pc the upload.

your line is syncing at 2mbps with a max of 10mbps.

i would like to do a quick ping. do you know how to open command prompt and ping?

in command prompt type "ping www.google.com" without the inverted commas then press enter
cmd.JPG if that fails try "ping 173.194.66.103" or "ping 173.194.66.102"

The Google ping gave me "...could not find host...."
The IP ping resulted in "Request timed out.... (100% loss)"

Can you try: tracert mybroadband.co.za

To copy from a tracert:
right-click>select all > enter
Then paste in here.
use
Code:

Hello John

It says "Unable to resolve target system name my broadband.co.za"

Usually there will be a green internet light on the modem, is that currently lit green or red?

Could OP's router have defaulted back to the guest account?

are you on a capped account? if so have you got cap left?

did you go through setting your username and password for your isp which im guessing is telkom?

Its an uncapped account with Telkom.
We did re-enter my username and password which was accepted.

Does anyone know when the consultant operators at 10210 leave work?
Iow operating hours.
