No Man's Sky

You don't pirate anything at all? Never?

I certainly don't. Youtube, gamer site and store page reviews are quite a lot to go on, and Steam has a refund system anyway. Origin and GOG too, although GOG only if your game doesn't run properly.

He's got issues.
Most of us pirate the games and get them if we like them/when budget constraints allow.
All the games I have purchased I pirated first.

Great excuse.

"all the games I have purchased I have pirated first". Awesome spin there.

How about you say, "all the games I have played I have purchased"?

And movies...tv shows???

On DSTV usually. I will tell you this - I am of the opinion that when I miss a series on DSTV I am ok with downloading the episodes I missed. Except I have downloaded a few and then not watched them.

But this is not the same as pirating a game in it's first couple of weeks and not having contributed anything at all to the developers.

And movies...tv shows???

Only if the content isn't available locally or when my family asks me to get stuff for them.

My music - Apple Music and iTunes store
My books - Kindle store on the device
My series - scheduled recordings on DSTV and BBC iPlayer
My movies - see them in cinemas
My games - Steam, GOG, Origin and Raru.co.za for Battle.net & Uplay games

I didn't think my pc was gonna be able to play the game considering my radeon 7770 isn't supported by the game but I downloaded the torrented version to see if it would work.

Surprisingly it runs everything on high with very little stuttering and haven't had one crash.

I started the game and before I new it it was 4 o'clock in the morning. I understand this game isn't for everyone but for me its the first time in a long a game has had me this enthralled.

I do feel like there are only about 10 things you can actually do and then repeat (which feels like an alpha game) so its not worth R600 if it came in at R200-300 I would buy it now. They also missed out on so much that could have made this one of the best games ever.

When they add a lot more to the game and bring the price down I will buy it but untill then my version will work just fine.

more like : R100 -150

Awesome spin, but sadly true.
Your "all the games I have played I have purchased" is false, as I have not purchased every game I've played, I end up not purchasing a vast majority of them as they don't capture my interest/terribly optimized. I was going to purchase No Man's Sky, I had the cash on hand, but hesitated when I heard from my friend who bought a pre-order copy. Same thing as Assassins creed Unity/Syndicate. I also pirated AC: Brotherhood, purchase that after two hours of playing, etc, because I enjoyed it.

I haven't played that many pirated games in the last 2/3 years though, there are a lot of F2P games that are quite good, e.g. LoL/Dota2/Smite/GW2, etc.

What do you say about pirating e.g. WoW Wotlk and playing on a private server? It isn't available on retail anymore.

It's not "false"; it's merely pointing out that your rationalization was false. As for your WoW question, I have no idea. Never played it.

At the end of the day (ignoring the WoW thing), you know, and I know, that you are stealing someones intellectual property. It happens. I gettit. But to try and justify it - that I don't get.

Can we get back to the GAME per the thread title?

Yeah, cool. I must say I was hoping beyond hope that this would take the space-fairing game to a new level. Like I said, I played the original Elite. 18 Quintillion planets was the hype call. I would say 18000 with a great game dynamic would have been better.

So if I buy a steam game, play it and then request a refund I'm also stealing someones ip?

18 quintillion planets wide. 1/18 quintillion deep. Nevertheless I'm 20 hours in and having fun. If you have kids, give them a separate save with the limitless jetpack, sprint and unit mods. Like heaven recreated for them
