No Man's Sky

You don't have to send the ship, if you started the expedition from your main save then it should be available to be copied. It will be whichever ship you were using last in that save (I think). I had 2 multi-tools and it only offered me a copy of the one I was using at the time.

I don't know if you needed to keep the tainted metal, I think maybe only collect it for the reward? Might be able to buy it from the scrap merchant at the space station, can't quite remember if he sells it or just trades you goods for it.

Adding the backpack refiner is one of my favourites, no more forgetting my portable refiner on random planets
I carry 3 refiners, cause I've done this before. Must see if I can call the Anomaly to get the quick silver guy :)

well if you finish this one then you will get a new ship that you can use in future expeditions/games. They may also re-release this year's expeditions again at the end of the year. Previously we got about a week to complete each one, so you could jump into them if you wanted and have the time.
Yeah looks like a pretty cool ship, the only crap thing is, I think when I started the expedition I was in my hauler, not sure now

I actually almost left one next to a crashed freighter, it was full of bone marrow that I was refining from jelly

ugh I dislike haulers hehe, BUT it should have a working warp drive which gives you some more options and maybe more storage space than the expedition ship.

My "fleet" has a hauler, explorer, fighter and shuttle. I chop and change depending on the role I require and it looks like Dec 2022 I was hauling stuff :-)

I mostly use fighters or the Utopia Speeder from an expedition reward. You can now build ships from parts, you might like that. I haven't tried it yet. Also need to do the autophage storyline so I can get a staff instead of a multi-tool.

I don't know, sometimes I like being a hauler, feels like I'm a space trucker. If I could hand things in my cockpit I would ;-). I lost my explorer, it looked similar to the bug from Red Dwarf, I must've sold it. I want to find another one similar to it, this thing was awesome.

I haven't ever tried flying an S class hauler, but the C class ones they give out on expeditions feel like flying a tank! Maybe because I spend too much time flying a fighter with high maneuverability. I just want a ship that can fly fast and has guns that annihilate  Want to eventually find a nice sentinel ship as they can hover and haven't spent much time investigating living ships so that could be cool too. I like the look of the solar ships, might build something with those parts.

I'm on an A or S class can't remember now, not great for maneuverability, but it does what it needs to :-). Plus you can still slap on some guns to at least kick back if you need to. Apparently there are some haulers that can hover as well.

Interesting reading about the different ship types and classes on the wiki: https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Starship#Starship_Archetypes

Love that there are so many options to suit each person's taste and play style.

Yup on that page now :) seeing some of the new updates like being able to capture a dreadnaught.
yeah! I haven't tried that yet. Every time I get that battle I'm always on another mission and don't feel like trying it so I just duck into the space station and leave the civilians to die hehe. Then I have to wait in the space station and get updates on how many people I'm not saving while I'm busy shopping for upgrades etc.

Yeah I join in, even if I'm in the hauler (not a good idea) come out of it scratched and broken. Sometimes my squadron joins in, can get hectic

Was wondering how those fights work in a hauler!! I have a squadron of one currently because they get in my way a bit but probably quite useful in the bigger battles.

Shields, they have really nice shields so you can take knocks, plus you can haul a lot of replenishment for the shields. Plus if you put enough guns on, you can still hold up, just instead of turning a lot, you'd use things like reverse or forward and try position yourself differently in the fights, a lot of the time I'm going backwards ;-)

lol, am not convinced by your "it's cool to fly backwards in a fight" argument  By all means, enjoy your hauler fights while I fly forward and hold down the S key to track the targets for annihilation. I'll have to stop being lazy with the S key when I take on a dreadnought though.

Hey it helps get your nose on their six :) can also track them as they tend to try turn away from fights to get behind.
Even on a fighter nothing like going the other way to get on the six faster

To be honest, I often don't even move. Just track and shoot them because on normal settings the space combat isn't too difficult and my infraknife is currently 72 000 DPS plus I have max ship shields. I will have to put in more effort when I decide to take on that pirate dreadnought though. My friend has one of those as his freighter and I'd like to get one if they also come in an S class variant.

Right now the explorer you get in the expedition is kinda kak and I did a pirate mission, so moving helped :-). I've still got my old Class B freighter in my main save :-(

Very brave to do anything other than fly in that expedition ship

I'm not even sure what freighter I have in main save as started a new save in the last few months. You get that one free freighter but I try wait for an S class one because after that I think we pay for them. Maybe the pirate dreadnought would be free but think maybe not. I think you also have to disable it so you can board and then get it.
