I believe there will be an expedition, maybe starting Friday but haven't seen confirmation of the start date yet. Think it's building the new corvette ship.
 
Friend and I played a bit tonight and he built a corvette. I got on the ship and we tried to leave the space station but it got stuck leaving and spun around a lot and eventually returned to the space station. We took a teleporter to one of his bases and the corvette loaded in and merged with his base. I jumped on and the thing glitched on take off and I died due to planetary collision!

My grave site was suspended in the air above his base. He built stairs up to it and I activated it, it indicated I was getting my stuff back but nothing loaded into my inventory. Also lost my favourite ship, the Utopia speeder, with all the stuff I was carrying on it. It's disappeared from my ship list, can't call it in. Went to the anomaly to try get another version of it but it says I've already claimed it :( So I would be cautious being a guest on a corvette ship currently!

Going to spend tomorrow night building up another ship with upgrades and gathering some additional supplies to replace the ones I lost. I have some stuff stored on my freighter but carried quite a lot in my suit and ship inventory like all my warp cells and warp hypercores.

Though I did score two of the Boundary Herald :-) scrapped one and that's why the one I fly is called the Turkey cause it's name was all glitched.

Able to run 4K FSR Native mode smoothly now. And my usual test scene is looking gucci.

I like the new "hero lighting" on the character. When I first loaded the game it looked SO good, realised I was running on ultra settings and my laptop might die :ROFL: went back to enhanced which is what I usually play on. It did look stunning on ultra though!

Enjoy bud. You get them very quickly at least. A few grind sessions and you should be able to build something outrageous. I can see that already. Friendly feature. I just wish you could transfer all the parts you don't need to the workshop cache thing. So it's right there where you build. But anyway. Plenty of empty storage I can put it in. Even better since you can build storage access on the corvette as well.

I can already see I'm going to have to make mine a tad bigger soonish. To be able to fit everything, because... Everything. Not much can fit in a single hab.
 
And I see it's going to not be all up to cosmetics either. Many of the parts actually act as tertiary upgrades. Which can even link up with standard ship upgrades, past the normal 3 upgrade limit. But bump up against the upgrade slot limit eventually.

There's going to be some engineering potential there. Really well thought out all things considered. One should be able to make a fly ship in more than just looks with the system. Real bruisers.

Thinking either rough and utilarian like Firefly or the Expanse universe, or bat sht crazy like an anime version.
Can you paint them?

Yup. Several colouring options and some materials that have a substantial effect on the colouring

Point to highlight and press G.

Semi-intuitive after that. Just things like window frames do not seem affected 🤷‍♂️
