I saw a tip online that recommended using photo mode to look for better routes nearby, including those scars that @AlphaJohn mentioned above. Going to try that when I play next.

You going to give this expedition a try? You can start it from the desk at the anomaly from your current save. It's probably not the best ever expedition but the rewards may be useful. I mostly just want the new armour set.
Oh I didn't know I can do it as part of my current save, in that case yeah I will.

Seen on Reddit, if you are on console (esp. Xbox) don't start from your main save. Make a new save. Tends to crash and break the main save
Oh dear! I'm on PC and started from my main save. So far seems okay but I also haven't played since the weekend.
See Binary's comment, might be risky if you're on xbox. You can always do the expedition on another save, the rewards will be available across saves. You just can't transfer any stuff you've collected from the expedition back to your main save, if you didn't start the expedition from there.

The new update that dropped last night apparently fixed that. And was Xbox only.
I finished the Expedition on both PS5 and Switch 2 this weekend.

I started seeing ships that closely resemble mine in the Anomaly, oddly all in yellow as well? (OG Xbox ship mentioned here)

Ok so the update does make it a tad easier as things don't fly out as much. But still man, driving on a planet over mountains to get from the processing plant to the waste disposal being 20 minutes away?? Yet my ship lays there saying it cannot be repaired and I've got tons of repair kits given to me??

Don't repair the ship, it will auto-fix after Phase 4.
You only need the ship to get to the anomaly once Expedition is done. You can't load trash onto a Corvette either so no fast travel.

Nope there is no fast travel :-( and these distances are far like spending 15 min just driving sigh, it's like come on guys...

DO NOT and I mean DO NOT play Snow or Mud Runner. That's the whole aim of the game. Slow off roading over odd terrain.

That is a great game to play. Boardom killer, especially when one feels like playing nothing else in one's library
I've never monitored my FPS so haven't noticed, also not playing on a high spec machine like yours!
Maybe keep an eye on the weekly bug report thread on reddit in case there's someone else with a similar issue. There is someone mentioning a performance issue in VR, can't remember if you were using VR though.
I do use VR, but wasn't doing that today.
I think earlier today my PC just needed a reboot, been fine for the afternoon.
Only place it's slow now is in the Anomaly, which seems to be a normal thing.
