No Man's Sky

It has...and those who waited until recently to buy it (at a fraction of launch price) are probably quite happy with what they've paid for
It's R599 on steam, just wth did it sell for in the beninging?

I would almost say its the best game after the Aug 2019 (beyond) update ;). Certainly from the space survival-exploration-sandbox I've tried out of Breathedge, Osiris new dawn, Outpost Zero and Astroneer.

With 60 hours (or more) I am really enjoying it, can't put it down... I suppose it is a good thing I've waited until Aug 2019 to get it at R300 .

I got it while it was still going at half-price. My GF did too. We are both loving the game.

so glad to see people enjoying this game
Sean Murray is almost as big a bull s*****er as Peter Molyneux
but he really managed to turn this game around

I've almost clocked 400 hours for my 'first playthrough' with 1x normal mode and 1x permadeath mode (zero deaths, center reached).

Thoughts: R299 well spent and will probably fool around some more.

I decided to have a peek at the game. Damn, it's huge with a sh*ton to do. I'll save this for when I have time on my hands.

Reminds me to try it again.

My first play through was years ago. Consisted of getting a better ship every 30 mins until I got the red one

I can't get into this.
Tried again after all the updates and it still bores me to death.

Prefer Freelancer.

The universe of No Man's Sky is populated by more than 18 quintillion procedurally-generated planets (18,446,744,073,709,551,616 or 2^64-1 to be exact) of many sizes, colors, and biomes.

Ah that's a pity.

Its primary focus is exploration.
Base building can be fun too and going through the questlines unlocks much content.

But if you like the alien world exploration/survival sort of thing, I strongly recommend Subnautica as well. But only if you can handle a bit of a scare also, and don't mind single player :)

Can't think of anything like Freelancer at the moment though. Good game that was. Maybe Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is like that? But haven't tried it.

The latest update is quite cool, with companions and a lot more to do. Currently, doing a new play. Started building my beach house
