Ship is a class B so not super great, but on finding it they did give me blueprints for some underwater base stuff, I mined gold for quite a bit in the beginning to get units, so had around 7 million for awhile, I'll attempt that one tonight for killing quadrupeds.
The base is on a floating island, with a small waterfall going into a stream which than becomes a waterfall onto another floating island just below it. I thought you couldn't build bases close to others, guess not.

Yeah my friend plays on playstation and prefers to use one multi-tool because not as easy to switch. I use ctrl+1 and ctrl+2 to switch, which is a breeze.

If you haven't already, you can scrap any additional ships you have for extra money but sounds like you have enough. I used the paralysis mortar for the quadrupeds but you do need a fair stock of unstable plasma if you use it as much as I do! You may well have a different secondary weapon you prefer.

I haven't tried to build a base on the floating islands, must try that in my main save, maybe even build across a few if they are close enough. I also thought you couldn't build close by but maybe your settings allow others to change your base and they added on to it? Otherwise sometimes things glitch a bit in multiplayer.

Nope they placed a base computer right outside mine :-( though my base really is just a portal, some cylinder rooms on foundation, maybe some decoration to make it a bit more homey :-). Lights on the landing pads, solar panels and batteries.

hehe okay sounds like multiplayer glitch things :ROFL: I built a temp base near some quadrupeds so I had somewhere to recharge if needed and some of them attacked me through the floor! Will have to build a second floor the next time I try that strategy.

Yup definitely some weird MP bug :-). Though his is literally just a hut with a portal and what looks like a bed. Ouch :-) I always build on raised platforms so it's not on the ground, so there is no clipping of the ground, cause it just magically grows through.

That's a good idea for building, might try the platforms. I usually build with cuboids because I can't stand all the electric cables and having to hide them. In the expeditions we often get the basic timber structures so I just throw them down because I'm not really planning to visit much!
 
My god did I not get distracted and did other things besides the expedition last night sigh. Why oh why did I get a freighter, plus fight a bunch of pirates, plus finished a normal mission called Voices from the Deep, it's like stay on task oh butterfly.
Did get 2 more ships from using a Nautilus to find sunken ships though, need to get water landing capability for my ship though.

You know the expedition only lasts until next Tues/Wed? Get moving ;) The distractions are such a big part of NMS and it sounds like you're having fun!

You can get the aqua jets from the spaceship guy in the anomaly.

Yeah yeah, gonna follow a guide now to actually stay on track :-P noticed if I follow something like that I'll actually stay on target.

Waiting on your adventures with those sentinel spiders :laugh:. Also, doesn't really matter if you don't finish the expedition, unless you especially wanted the ship at the end.

I'll probably try nail it tonight, had some difficulty with the freaking worms, can't figure out how to kill them. So stuck on phase 3, plus my saved game isn't updating on the Xbox. Hopefully can finish tonight.

I discovered you can shoot the worms from your ship! Fly low and shoot and they should come out. You can also jump out and scan for their nest things and tag them and then flow low towards them.

I read that there had been some issues with saved games on xbox :( hoping one of their recent updates sorted it out.
 
When you get to the sentinel spiders/quadruped task, I think you can use a similar strategy using your ship but might have more sentinels to evade. If their ships arrive then I call the anomaly to run away :laugh: Look for the inverted mirrors that usually have the spider sentinels guarding them. I did it on foot and it was a bit of a mission, would have preferred using my ship!

Yeah weird issues on the saved games, I tried that, problem is the planet is also stormy and trying to fly the ship around it and position it to shoot them gets really tricky. Especially since some of them are next massive rocks. I need a hover ship or something

yes! hover ship would best! I did it in my fighter but still had some strange camera angles to deal with and just shot a ton and hoped. Sentinel ships can hover but may not be enough time to find one if you don't already have it.

I had a hauler :-(, I also wish I could call in my squadron to come shoot them, cause they have fighters. Yes I have a squadron of fighters.
