No Man's Sky

Welcome! I haven't managed to get my scanning up to those levels 🤯 Maybe around 500k for rarer animals. I'm into trading using the economy scanner to make money when I need it.
Nah. That's excellent. You just need something like this in the ingestor.

There's better recipes, but that one is easy to mass produce early, and I don't care about the extra 200% or so you can squeeze out.

Which leads to your fauna analysis bonuses looking like this for 10min per cake.

ooooooh that's how you did it! I haven't really tried out the ingestor stuff. In my main save I have enough credits and nanites not to really be worried about them for now. I usually get into the making money thing when an expedition comes along.

The ingestor is imba. An hour or tow of scanning can net you 3-4bil easy.

Is that the best setup for the scanner?
Not the very best. There are a few better recipes.

Like... Nectar Islands shown here gives a bigger boost.

Beyond that you just need an A/S-Rank multitool for enough bonus slots to have all S-Rank scanner upgrades in a bonus slot. I think if you put the scanner itself in a bonus slot you eke a bit more out. And then from what I've read royal multitools (which you can get from sentinel spires fairly regularly) give a 100% bonus to scanner, but I haven't checked if that's scanner range only. Still want to try that.

Having so many purple/supercharged slots together is amazing! I think one of my multi-tools had 3 and I was making quite a lot of money through scanning. Also helps that I use one for scanning and mining and a different one for combat.

I just want to buy ship and multitool slots at the upgrade stations, as much as I want, whenever I want.
Yeah my 700 mil was depleted easily when I decided to upgrade one of my multi-tools by buying lots of slots. Forgot that I had quite a few free upgrades sitting in a storage container! But money and nanites are easy to make so I didn't worry about it too much.

That's on the Atlas staff on my main save. Not sure if they always have that arrangement. Want to collect one during next expedition to make sure.

But then... The Relic expedition staff had the same arrangement once I upgraded it

I use that for my mining staff. Though... I hear Atlantid staffs are better (hope I'm remembering right). Anyway. Still getting into the different multitool type bonuses properly.

I still need to play around with the staff multi-tools, just keep using the ones I already had. Pistol for scanning and rifle for combat.

Yeah the pistol bonus is good.

But Royal...

Experimental also has the same 100% bonus, but Royal multitools are easy to get.

Using the staffs for the great bonus slot arrangements only. Not sure where they fall on the type bonuses. Beyond a certain point it doesn't truly matter, like you said. Don't know what to do with more credits. Yet.

Yeah the pistol bonus is good.

Yeah I am keeping my eye out for a nice Royal multitool for scanning but the pistol has been a good one for both scanning and mining in the mean time. I may eventually end up using 3 multitools with shortcut keys! I still need to to play around with the staffs (staves?) I've collected from a few expeditions.

Yup. That's the way to go. Dedicated tool for each purpose. No shifting upgrades around.

A bit more on the base, though now I've started doing two landing pads coming into the portal/hangar. The room under the hangar will also be expanded accordingly.

I like the interior aesthetic you've got going. I tend to make my bases very utilitarian inside. It's something I've been meaning to work on.

Worth it I think - A serious base gets used a lot. So might as well make it pleasant inside.

Thanks, it's the little touches to try make it look more homely.
My freighter I did the same, there is a canteen, crew quarters, my quarters, desks and monitors in other rooms to make it look more like a working ship.
The freighter at least has the crew from the frigates milling about to give it a more lived in feel.
