True, was playing in bed but can't transfer now to Xbox/PC till they in sync again.
Rumor has it that its Nintendo's doing as updating Switch 2 in sync with PC would cause the game to lose parity with the OG Switch 1 version.
I haven't got other devices to play on but I thought the cross save was working everywhere. I can see people on Reddit with a similar issue to you though
. I would solve it by having two saves 
. I've restarted this game so many times because I like building up from nothing. I am keeping my oldest save though as well. I think I'm 2 achievements away from finally getting 100% for a game!

Done just that, have a new save on Xbox but my main save is stuck on Switch.
Well it may not be your main save for that much longer if this keeps happening and you keep playing on Xbox
Hoping they do improve it for you though!

Aren't those the extra crazy new planets where it feels like too much is happening at once and I might get electrocuted or relocated by the wind/gravity with a side of permanent extreme weather?Saw reports on Reddit that people were downloading it a bit earlier on Steam, around 5.5GB I think. Will get mine updating a bit later, shouldn't take too long.

Yes and no, I started last month and there is a k#k ton to do but I don't feel like its a barrier at all.
