Oooh a galaxy I haven't been to! I haven't fully explored the whole waste removal thing, but what are you using it for in a regular save? So far it's only given me nanites and few other elements, haven't found anything very useful yet.

I just did it for the cosmetics. Don't care about the rest, so didn't pay attention to what else you get.

I haven’t played this in years and I’m thinking about starting fresh.

Any recommendations on which game mode to choose and what path to take? I enjoy base building and hauling loot around :}

Normal.

I just started with an Expedition in November and made it my main after completion. Sadly this expedition does not really give you a large head start but mobile refiner and such as still a bonus over starting plain.

Gorram this expedition sucks balls. Spent an hour trying to get the waste back. Losing it. Tunnelling doesn't work as the truck gets stuck the lighting makes it hard to see.
No way of building a base or something

Lot's of complaints about it.
Personally I got through it quickly, only had one cargo loss. Fell into a cave.
Other than that, you just need to drive carefully. Drive to the heap, pick up and pick up along the way back to the processing. But yes, straps, or some kind of enclosure would help.

Yeah that would help plenty, the problem is there is no straights or flats between my processing plant and the heap :-(. Tried building tunnels, but then there are caves and the freaking thing is hard to control as well. Nice wide tunnel, truck still somehow gravitates too wall.

Found that following the ridges helps with the long trips. It's a bit of an balancing act. Did not make tunnels nor flatten out the ground.

honestly don't bother :-) it actually makes it harder and the collosus doesn't go through it properly anyway.

6.22 is out for all, bar switch.

Lets hope they fixed the 10 min freezing issue on Xbox

Edit: They are addressing it:

In the expedition you cannot build a base computer so no way of building a road.

Did not know that. I was lucky enough to score the same map on both saves that had a lovely scar that I could follow. So did not need to look for alternatives until I was finished.

I did see bases around me, so I assumed it was possible.

Yeah where I spawned the freaking distance is only a few ru away but it's up and down basically mountains :-(

So I started up a fresh playthrough this week, just the general campaign as I honestly couldn't remember anything from my first and only session 4 years back. Got about 5h in and remembered there is native VR support. Just wow man. Over and above how good the worlds look and feel on VR, the VR controller implementation is by far the best I've ever used. I usually ditch the VR controllers for an XBox controller, but in this game they feel so natural. Swapped the teleport move and snap turning for smooth and I've been loving it. Already put in another 30h this week, which is double the total playtime I had in this game till now.
And just for an added bonus I took the ROG Ally down to the pub yesterday and I'm very impressed with how smooth it runs.
Glad I decided to give NMS another chance, this will be my go to game between Diablo4 seasons now.
