No more contract for 09

Our company just called all 14 of us upstairs for a meeting to let us know the client has not re-newed their contract with 2009, which means our contracts will not be re-newed either..

Great December we are all going to have.

Anyone have a spare chicken for me for Christmas? :D
 
I am a project and communications manager.. I have applied for a few things over the weekend, as I did foresee this happening..

Client has a 3 yr max mandate with all agencies and this was year 3.. :( Still isn't a nice thing to happen though, especially with holidays coming up... No bonuses :(

It's obviously not good news for you, especially because I remember you saying you are the breadwinner .........
 
Exactly Blue.. broke the news to hubby now..

It is not the end of the world... Just means job interviews which isn't ideal over this time of the year..

What upsets me is the timing!
 
Go have an awesome December Holiday and worry about it in January. No need to get all down in the dumps this time of the year ;)

I know you will get a job again in no time at all :)

Exactly the same thing happened to me this time last year but I was told on the 15th of December that my contract wasn't going to be renewed for January:(

Landed up having a lekker 3 month holiday.

He is a bodyguard.. Was stationed in Iraq, but they started pulling out all the guys last year.. Almost like EE here.. Replace all south africas, europeans with Iraqi's..

SO now he is trying to get a small business of the ground..

Yes, I have a feeling I will also be having a month off.. Which sucks, as I was just starting to make nice headway savings wise..

Aah, I see. I hate to sound cliche, but for what it's worth, I am sad to hear this and I hope you find something soon...
