Thats why I reckon she should apply now. By the time the paperwork is finished and it's process she'll have a new job + get 60% of the employment fund back which would mean she lost only 40%? :D

Unfortunately not - you don't get back pay for time that you were unemployed. If you're employed when the benefits kick in, you get nothing.

TBH today I am feeling quite excited about all of this.. Have way too much time on my hands here at work, so a new challenge would be great for 09 :)

Thats the spirit. However, If I were you I'd try something different than work. Maybe start selling amway. (I would, just to piss people off)

Passive Income.

Then go make babies. Then when you're old they'll take care of you. :D

Nea, you will be ok. Seriously.

Christmas is a time for giving, scale down maybe move to family or friend to save some few extra bucks and go at it head first in January. Don;t stress about it now

wa ha ha I got roped into Amway once.. never again! Actually thinking of maybe starting a business here.. Lingerie maybe as SA has a huge need for nice stuff like Victorias secret.. Need to find out what the import laws and taxes are... Else it is going to be me behind a PC for another 10 years!

Don't say that too loud.. Hubby is very broody and don't want him to hear yet another person suggesting that !!

Yeah the funny thing is that we just made up all these christmas boxes for kids from a shelter at Bathwanda costing almost R1K.. And booked and paid a trip to mauritius and a weekend away in December.. lol.. oops!!

Thanks, still can't believe it.. Thank goodness, as it was the only interview I had been to..! They want me to start next week though.. Which is quite short notice.. At least it is a permanent position.

Hopefully there are holidays! I told the agent I have a mauritius trip in april and a trip in December, so she said she is not going to bombard them with all the requested leave until the contract is signed.. :)

Feel like a terrible employee and haven't even started yet! :eek:

Not that impressive, hence the shock :p
 
Aye, congrats! That's always a huge relief and a pretty nice feeling. You sort-of reaffirm that you're still "wanted" in the business world. :)
