No more contract for 09

Our company just called all 14 of us upstairs for a meeting to let us know the client has not re-newed their contract with 2009, which means our contracts will not be re-newed either..

Sorry to hear; that really sucks. :(

The client wasn't a large telecoms company, was it?

PM me your e-mail address. Maybe I can help you as well as your husband, if he is still willing to do IRAQ.

If you work only for a single company you have all the same rights as a permanent employee.

Don't forget the unemployment fund ok? I know people forget that sometimes but it could seriously help you out without having to deplete your savings...

Natasha, send me your e-mail address via PM and I'll forward all job related stuff I receive - I deal with Jobmail etc so I can get a heads up :)

That is interesting! I did not know that! But I don't plan on fighting them.. They also did their best and we all knew it was only a 3 yr position..

Thanks Acid.. But I don't plan to have a month of "no salary" :D

However, if it happens I will definately apply for UIF.. Apparently up to 60% of your salary which would still be great!

Shame Natasha sorry to hear that. You'll be fine.
I'm thinking of doing that to myself next year. :D I 'm tired of working for The Man.

With regards to your husband; ex SA military/special ops/highly trained security people get paid top dollar for managing security and security logistics in big multi national mining companies with opperations in Africa. I have some family doing that. They're making a killing. Just an idea. ;)

Yeah, but it does take a while to kick in (and for them to process everything). You could have to wait 3 months or more.
