A few days ago I spoke to the Iburst support desk about a problem I was having. While I was resetting my modem to fix the problem he told me that you will not be able to access secure sites after you are capped ex Banking web sites. He said it was implemented in the last month or so, but it doesn`t always work. Sometimes you will still be able to view them.

So Ed is this true? If this is I see no more use for Iburst!!

Well the iBurst usage meter changes over to https.

Are they going to stop users from using part of their own site?

Oh, I just noticed that I have been using secure sites for a while being capped. The Mozilla addons site is secure, so it still seems to be working for me, every time as far as I can tell..

This just sounds like support staff stupidity to me. In my experience the helpdesk enjoy making up answers to problems they can't legitmately solve.

This may be true but my problem was not related to secure sites. He just mentioned it while I was waiting for the modem to reset.

I'm capped but absa online banking works fine...

Looks like Ed will be listening to recordings again and then rapping someone on the knuckles for talking ****.

Ja, the support guy was probably a clod..... all secure sites work for me. I've been capped for 4 days now.

Hi Guys

No such thing is going to happen....I am going to get the recorder out again, maybe it was just a misunderstanding.

Regards
Ed

hmmmm surprisingly after my conversation with a techie at iburst... my connection worked again.
