No Response After Interview?

There's nothing wrong with following up. Don't feel as if it makes you seem desperate. You have a number of opportunities, and you would just like to find out where you stand on this particular one before making a decision on the others...

Agree.

I followed up on an interview in the past, this was after I got an automated "unsuccessful" response.

Only to find out that it was a glitch from HR, after the post was removed, and then added only a few weeks later after a restructuring exercise.

I ended up getting the job.

Didn't they give you an indication at the interview of how long it would be before their final decision? Our HR usually mentions this to the candidates.

Yip ... always worth it. There is no downside to following up

I often wonder what HR staff do all day.

Think up some new performance measure bull**** that seems very clever to them but almost never fully applies to anyone else.

Most useless department in just about every company I've ever worked in.

I once followed up through a recruitment agency (email) didn't get a response, so I knew.

There was another time I followed up at another company (call), the guy sounded annoyed, but kept it professional, and guess what, they didn't bother to let me know that I didn't get the job, I just saw the post on an ad again a few months later, guess it wasn't the right job for me in anycase... Basically bad experiances with following up

"We'll let you know how things go." Exact words used

" I really liked the idea of working for your Company, but have received an offer elsewhere. Unless I hear from you by tomorrow I must remove my application."

The red flag was when no salary package was mentioned at all, I had a little debate in my head as to why this wasn't asked or mentioned but none the less, spilt milk
