Need advice on purchasing noise cancelling headphones. We have a lot of building noise with pneumatic drills and chopping up of tiles making a horrendous noise around us. Am contemplating purchasing headphones to listen to DVDs or TV whilst this din is going on. Don't wish to spend more than R1,000. Recommendations please.

Do they have a USB connection to be plugged into TV? I do not have a smart television set.

They connect via Bluetooth or via the audio jack 3.5mm which you can use to connect to your TV, provided that your TV has a 3.5mm audio jack output or audio output via RCA, where you can use a RCA to 3.5mm jack cable..

Many thanks. Do you also like the Sennheiser?
I recently purchased the big brother of the bt 4.50, the pxc 550, to replace my older wired Sennheisers, which I bought to replace my even older wired Sennheisers..

Not a single pair of them has ever let me down and they are all still working perfectly.. even look good..

(I even wrote a review on that page)

It is no noise cancellation earphone, but because of its well designed earpiece it does a pretty good job at isolating noises from outside. It set me back roughly R350 at Musica. I'm sure they don't stock it anymore, but there should be something similar or better by now.

Can you perhaps recommend one in ears with ear muffs? I really don't want to spend a lot of money on something I might need only occasionally.

Was about to suggest the same, how well do those work btw?

They work very well. I got these specifically to block out bass (stupid neighbours) and since I got them the neighbours have been behaving themselves. So I don't know how well they work when the music is really pumping but for the general complex noise they work really well.
