With Ovi Contacts, you can let your friends know what you are doing and where you are. You can also check your friends' status messages to see what your friends are up to. Ovi Contacts is all about keeping in touch with people who matter.

If you have used Nokia Chat you will find Ovi Contacts mobile application familiar. Key features: (note: supported features depend on the platform)

Presence: Let your friends know if you are available, busy or on the phone. Check your friends' availability.
Enhanced presence: You can share - or hide - your favorite places with your friends. You can also let your friends know what you are listening to.
Chat: Get in touch with your friends with chat. Convey your messages with emotions and share your location on the map via chat.

@derekc: Yeah - I used EURO1-Red eventually.

yes as this is only available for UK/Europe and Vietnam product codes at the moment.

just got the call, they've received my 5800, going to pick it up at lunch time....

so how would a noob like me go ahead to update the firmware to V40 when i receive mine?

:) Enjoy it.

Download the Nemesis Suite (link in this thread, methinks), update your product code, download the latest Nokia Software Updater, connect and update.

I was expecting more from the update for the homescreen - something like the N97 where you can put apps on the screen. What's currently there seems like an updated version of the contacts homescreen that we had before.
or am I missing something?

Ovi Suite can synchronise your phone calendar

You have to use the Contact List under settings for the new homescreen.

Does anyone know how to remove the Add Contact button once i've added the contacts i want?

soo has anyone managed to get a mp4/xvid movie to play on their 5800? without converting, or even using a convertor except for super convertor?
