From my experience, the easist way to tether your phone is via the Nokia PC Suite... works like a charm on my older Nokia :D

One question, I have:

How do I make album art show when playing a track?

The album is loaded, has artwork, but does not show up when playing a track..

Has any one in SA experienced the dreaded speaker failure due to humidity problems?
Or are we getting a "fixed" batch of 5800s in SA?

Nope. Not yet.

As far as I can tell, we have the European units.
I think it was the US units that had most of the speaker trouble..

That being said, my unit was made in November 2008.

Touch wood, no probs yet...

:)

How do you know when your unit was made?
Was it printed on the box?

I don't think the 2008/... is the date because I looked at a frinds Sony Ericsson C902 and the box said 2005/..; I don't think the C902 was manufactured in 2005

Type your IMEI number into this website, but I don't think the manufacturing date is part of the number... let me know if you find something.

Does anyone know whether it is possible to only display 1/2 contacts or 1/2 shortcuts in the separate home screens....? Does it really have to display 4 no matter what..? I know for contacts it will display eg. if you only added 1 it will only display 1 and then the grey button which you can add another contact from. Any ideas?

Nope you got me.

Also, how do you get the keypad to display while you on a call - in case you get to a call center and have to key in options...
At the moment you have to go through a few steps to let it show - for each call. By the time I get there I miss the options.

:/
