NOKIA 5800 Tips Tricks & Apps Thread.....

Nokia Vodaworld has gone down the tubes since Zayne Ramos left as Store Manager late last year.

It took me how long just to get a quote for 4 x E71 and a 2620 ....

anyone know of a good e-book reader?
I've tried mobi-pocket, but the latest version is only for s60 v3, which doesn't work on my 5800.

eReader is available for Symbian, if my memory card didn't bomb out again last night (i'm getting closer to what the problem is) i could mail it to you

How long did you guys have your 5800s before the Memory card corrupted? Im asking cause ive had mine since last week with no problems at all yet.

Well, I have had mine now for a month before the speaker went all grainy. Sounds like every person I talked to had a sock in thier mouth. My Speaker for the speaker phone function also went from loud to wispering :(
I guess repairs gonna take a month or 2.

My wife and myself have had our since October last year if I remember correctly without any corruptions to date and I've tinkered quite a bit on both of them including the changing of product codes.

Same here. I've had mine since Vodacom launched it. Been using my 8GB card without any issues. Taken it out and inserted it in a few times. Still working 100%, and no corruption. Just recently updated to a 16GB card, been using it for about a month, no issues as well.

Thanx a lot for the info guys. :) hopefuly it'll be fine. Read on some blog that the newer units had fixed the speaker and video/camera problems.

Question :
Why do I get a memory full message on my 5800, I have nothing saved on it. This happens every now and then, intermittent !!!! If I switch the phone off and on its ok again.

What apps are you running? That message tells me you have a leaky app somewhere. Try shutting down apps you aren't using, like Messaging, Calendar, Log, Gallery apps, etc.

Follow up.

So my phone was supposed to be ready on Thursday but it wasn't. At least they phoned on Friday afternoon to tell me it was ready. Picked it up immediately. Apparently they replaced the PC Board. The old issues haven't appeared ... yet! But now the phone is switching off by itself. It's happenned about 3 times since last night. I'm really pissed off

Oh and the email SETUP application starts by itself.

It keeps popping up with the message: "Allow application to use network to send ir receive data?"

@Carbon: Have you tried a hard reset?

Did a soft reset (via Settings>Phone Management>Factory Settings). I don't think it helped. Worked fine for an hour but then the phone restarted. Will try the hard reset.

Is *#7370# a soft or hard reset?
Is the hard reset Red + Green + Camera Button while powering UP?
