OMF YES!! The Menu not having kenetic was f* irritating. No Office peeved me to hell and back!
The 5800 is getting better and better with age!

Anyone have the invisible shield on their phone? How's the touch sensitivity with it on? Any glare or other viewing issues?
 
I have kinetic scroll everywhere in V40 - or maybe I am confusing it with my N97...
Anyways, got both a set of matte (anti reflective) and clear screen protectors and they did not affect the sensitivity at all - still sharp and precise. If you like I can mail you one. I bought a 5 pack.

I tried # 0573788 APAC2 AU Black 50.0.005 now and it does not work OTA or with NSU. Will try it with Ovi now.
 
i'm gonna commandeer my wife's 5800 and do this..hope i dont breakit...
 
Tools -> Software Updates.

It does not pick up anything for my 5800 even with product codes known to work.
 
oh no..that 5800 doesnt pick up any updates OTA..which i cant understand because we got it last year allready and i dont believe there has not been an update..
 
Well most people upgraded to V40 back in Feb, so its only been 2 months since the last update. With my first S60 5th experience being on a N97 I am very happy to see the 5800 is now getting some of that joy. I'll be waiting for V50 to come to EURO-1 phones via NSU.
 
i tried that in feb but didnt pick up any updates OTA..very frustrating..
 
130MB update OTA is a bit hectic.

Does it work? Or is the NSU the only way to go? I'll hang on until this is released/approved by eMpTN. Then just update as per usual- normally a few months after the hacked update kids, but that's fine with me :)
 
Julle bang gatte!!... As soon as my NSU is done with its stuuuupid updates i'm gonna change codes like Ludacris! "in different area codes! area codes! hooooowwsss..."

The product codes are essentially "barcodes" for different models of a phone and only a select few of these "barcoded" 5800s are allowed to upgrade to the latest v50 firmare. One can change their product code with NSS.
 
I've tried about 5 of those codes already... nothing! Did they decide to pull the update or something?
