Living in cape town and going to vodaworld ias not an option. :P

Tahir, how bad is the branding on the phones? my gig is on the 9th of september so yea i need to act fast.
 
twisted i dont know if im speaking out of turn but i think you can do it on the vodacom site you dont have to go into vodacom itself
 
murmom: Where exactly, all i see is that its exclusive to vodaworld only and what about signing papers etc and paying the fee's like admin fee and how'd the phone get to us? [delivery?]

Tahir scares me with his "should be available..." i've waited long enough for this phone now, getting tired.

tahir, i want to upgrade (been with vodacom for years)

can smartcom do that [the upgrade... no strings, i'm in cape town northern suburbs]? and you dont know for sure if the phones will be out on the 9th for vodacom?

i see mtn is already offering the 6680 free
 
Well after calling "smart"com i'm no closer, spoke to some lady in the call centre (should have taken her name i guess) she kept me on hold for 16 minutes then returned to say she can't find a number and a sales rep will call me in the next 20 minutes, its now 8 hours later and nothing.

BTW Tahir: besides any advice on my questions above this post?
 
I apologize in advance if I am re-asking an old question, but I have searched a bit and did not find what I am looking for.

I am having issues with my 6680, mainly, if I save my pictures on the memory card after X amount of time (where X has been half an hour to a couple of days) my camera stops working and I can’t download or view the pictures.

I have read many time there is a software problem with image viewer etc. Does anybody know when a software upgrade will be available?

Sorry for the long explanation for a short question.
 
6680 problem with One Touch Access:
I've got no problems with 3G connection using my phone, but somehow the One Touch Access cannot connect my Laptop.
I've loaded all the software as default. my error message:
Failed to connect to the network! One Touch Access could not connect to the selected device.

Event though PC SUITE CONNECTED VIA USB,
and the Settings show Vodacom South Africa
as the connection under "select you network operator"

I don't know what the problem is.

If I try use the Nokia 6680 USB modem that is installed, It dials *99# but cannot connect.

Really don't know what to do, I'm going to uninstall completely and re-install. Any Idea's ?
 
Voacare/Vodahop tell me that the new prices for the 6680 and all other phones will be out on the 6th of September.

Can anyone verify?

YEBO YES.Prices are coming down on the 6680.I.The new prices will be effective from the 7th of September and deals are valid until 6 Novembers.. Nokia 6680 will be R999 cash on a WEEKENDER package and FREE on Business Top Up.These prices will be for the Vodafone Live version.The normal version is now finnished.
 
so much for free on weekender :( R999 is still a ****load to pay

clearly this IS a cape town thing, why is it free on MTN and why did smartcom have it free and vodaworld but not cape town

BS imo...

So whats the deal with normal vs. Vodafone Live? Which one is better, or is it just the the one comes with the Vodafone Live goodies?

The std Nokia 6680 will no longer be sold on Vodacom from early next week.All 6680 will be Vodafone live from NOW ON

The difference is that Branded phones suck like hell. They 'Customise' the phone, add their own crap, delete what they don't like, LOCK stuff on the phone, you lose functionality. I've seen this all before. Hooray for Branding!

Tigertael you're lucky, unfortunately for us that live in cape town. i guess vodacom doesnt like us too well.

So why didn't you sign up with SmartCom? I mean, They're in JHB and I'm in Durban. Everything can be done over the fax, couriered, etc?
