Does anyone know how to change the start position from some place in Europe to somewhere else? I don't have a GPS attached. Nice software though.

Ok, no problem. It does work with the E61.
It defaults to Germany. there is no way to change the startup position without a GPS connected. Even with a GPS connected, it still starts in Germany Europe until the GPS pinpoints your location.
I got a GPS this weekend with Route 66. Must say I still prefer Smart2Go's interface and layout. It works with Smart2go but you need the Navigation module to navigate with the attached GPS.

It seems that the maps on a Nokia device are more detailed then on a Windows Mobile Device, read this

That's true. I seeing the maps on a Nokia N70 and it is much more detailed than the windows mobile maps. After all, it's a Nokia program so you can expect that.

i have TomTom mobile working fine on my N73, but with UK & Europe maps, along with a Holux Bluetooth GPS device, works great, but cause i aint gonna be in SA for a while, im not going to be able to see how the SA map works
If anone is look for TomTom mobile, i have V6 which i can upload somewhere, PM me, or skype me on "hotentot33" if your interested (it comes complete with crack) this works on S60 Ver3 nokia phones, i dont think it works on older versions of symbian, but i might be wrong

That SA maps works perfectly with TomTom Navigator 6 Mobile (on my P990i - Symbian 9.1 UIQ3).
I found TomTom to be the most powerful and user-friendly of all the Navigator software. And the just released SA maps are very up to date.
I also use a Holux GPS Slim 240 Bluetooth GPS Receiver, and it works smoothly.
With Nokia's software you have to pay a subscription to get voice direction navigation I think.
TomTom's got 51% of the whole of Europe's GPS navigation market. That says a lot of the of the company and products already.
TomTom originates from the Netherlands. They've just entered our market last year I think.

Smart2go is useless for windows mobile devices because the maps have no detail. Started using Handymap, excellent software. Anyone know if Tom Tom is available for Windows Mobile?

Yes, they have. And the above mentioned SA maps from that download source, also caters for the WM5 mobile TomTom version.

anyone know why the map downloads are so slow? is it the server or if i get a memory card reader and try downloading onto there will it be faster?
2: where are files stored? map data? looks like they hide it...its not under "Cities"

Bluetooth GPS Receiver recommendation
I have a Nokia N80 and a Nokia N73.
I have installed smart2go and TomTom on both phones, with South African maps.
Can anyone recommend a bluetooth GPS receiver that will be compatible with both phones and both products?
Looking for recommendations for i] the best ii] the cheapest iii] the most cost effective/practical/reliable.

I think the Garmin Bluetooth GPS that's available with the N70 at Vodacom is a nice GPS. The price is more or less R1500.

Look for a Holux 240 Slim or similar on eBay. With international express shipping it works out to be R650. And it's as small as a USB flash drive.
100% compatible with TomTom. It also have a great international brand reputation.
Can't speak for Smart2Go since it doesn't have great SA maps I've heard, and is not supported on Symbian UIQ3.

Hey hotentot_UK, do u know where I can find TomTom for Windows Mobile 5 and a crack for it? Because Smart2Go with SA map serves no use on WM5 devices!
