Nokia E-series

Why does it take so long for MTN to have the E61 and E70 available if there are already at least 2 online shops who have these phones available and from what I understand Nokia in Woodmead has the phone available as well?

I have emailed Midrand and will advise ASAP

The E61 will get approval next week, and we will then place orders on Nokia. Give it 3 weeks for delivery. The E70 has been failed by the network on its 3G capabilities.

Does this mean that the E70 will not be made available as an option on a MTN upgrade?
I'm due for an upgrade since the start of June and I'm holding out like crazy for a E70.
Should I start looking into other options???

Good day,

digidruid

They are in the process of fixing the error first before they can release it, but I'll keep you in the loop.

In that case I quess it will be a good idea to pre-order the phone at my local MTN SP shop.
Just hope the phone gets approved before my contract expires middle Sept.

Would you (MTNDD) recommend this route??

Due for an Upgrade on 8 August, thats Tuesday and phoned MTN Service Provider and the phones are ready for release. Trying to get one delivered to my house, but lady at MTN still needs to get back to me about the price and what contracts its available on. Phone 083 123 6093 (free call from MTN handset) and request to upgrade to Nokia E70.

MTNDD why the erie silence. I feel like I'm sitting in a very suspenseful movie. :D

Sorry, have been a little busy,

But seems like someone beat me to the answer above

We will buy this handset only on a b2b basis once approved. It is no on any of the Sales promotional plans

This is a real pity. Here's a solid, capable phone which should be available to those of us who don't feel the need to have a camera.

E61 was approved on Vodacom and some SP's had their first shipment last week Thursday... Nice phone.... definitly a all round office in your pocket..

Yes, thanks for the comment. I've been thinking about this, and I understand that MTN will be offering it soon. It just looks rather large. The E60 seems to have all that I need (and more!), the size is more practical, and the screen has a better resolution than the E61. The limits that get placed on one's choices seem so arbitrary. It can't be price, because from what I've seen on foreign websites, the E60 and E61 cost the same.
