Nokia E7 here this week

Nokia, the world's leading mobile phone maker, said Monday that its new E7 business smartphone, whose release had been delayed from the end of 2010, will be on sale in "select markets" this week.

Looking forward to this. i have been using the E90 for the past 4 years and it has given me excellent service

It's already available in our Virgin Mobile stores. Anybody interested can pm me. We will deliver your phone within 10 working days, if you can sign up for a Classic 200 contract.

Remember, with Virgin Mobile you only use 65 cents per Mb and 99 cents for Virgin to Virgin calls. :)

Who still uses Nokias?
Only my maid as far as I know...

Good question..Nokia have seriously lost the plot. Whats the use in getting a Symbian 3 phone now when it will not be supported in 12 months time. So if the software is buggy it will not be fixed with a patch or whatever.

Anyone in SA, like me, who's still planning to buy this phone?
OR
Or what phone out there would you say is the most similar to this device?

It seems like a very impressive phone other than the operations system. And Symbians days seem numbered with the Nokia/Microsoft deal, I'm pretty sure The vast majority of new Nokia smart phone will end up with Windows Mobile 7

Symbian will stay on in Nokia. It will just migrate to their cheaper consumer handsets.
Windows 7 mobile is reserved for their smartphone lines.

I have the N8. Very similar to the E7.
Differences are mainly the screen (E7 has a slightly bigger one and has their new Clear Black technology), camera (N8 has the uber one) and a querty keyboard.

I'm absolutely enjoying Symbian^3.
Its stable and very well organised.
Nowhere near as fragmented as Android.

You will love it.
Just take Symbian for what it is and on its own merits.
:)
