Nokia files patent complaint against Apple

Nokia says it has filed another complaint in the United States alleging that Apple infringes Nokia patents in almost all of its mobile phones, portable music players, tablets and computers.

Well, Apple stole the touch screen phone idea from Ericsson so they had this coming for a long time now.

lolzor...poor apple...not going good for them hey, first kodak sues them, this week btw, now this thing with nokia

"multitasking operating systems, data synchronization, positioning, call quality and the use of Bluetooth accessories."

seems a bit thin to me... I think they have to face up to the fact that they have been beaten. At least their future is definitely threatened. What I don't quite understand is why they are not just jumping on the android bandwagon! I think a nokia android will carry some weight in the market. It's not like they own symbian either.

I think it is sink or float for them around that point.

Nokia says the seven patents in the new complaint relate to Nokia's "pioneering innovations" that Apple is using "to create key features in its products, including in multitasking operating systems, data synchronization, positioning, call quality and the use of Bluetooth accessories."

But they don't have anything close to the iPhone or iPad.

While I do appreciate the irony of someone using Apple's dirty, underhanded tactics against them, I don't think Nokia can sue them for the things mentioned, I mean, Applephones can't multitask and don't have proper Bluetooth functionality anyways.. As for "call quality", how in the ass can anyone patent that?

Mmm... maybe I should patent "good wine", that way anyone who makes wine that doesn't taste like crap has to pay me moneyz :D

Seriously? you trying to sue apple because they have bluetooth accessories and good call quality?

as for multitasking, Apple's Computers have been doing it Before Nokia even existed?

Nokia are grasping for straws at this point...

Patent trolling. *yawn* Their lawyers will make a killing, Apple and Nokia will settle by cross-licensing their "technologies" and ensure that any competitors that come remotely close to utilizing said "technology" will be sued into oblivion. Old story of big businesses colluding with each other and rent-seeking the government for useful privileges (i.e. the State-sponsored legal system of intellectual monopoly rights).

because they in bed with microsoft....

i don't really like apple much but nokia's argument does indeed sound a bit thin....

Sounds like standard patent attacks. If Apple weren't such an egregious offender themselves I'd feel some sympathy for them.

No they didn't.

Isn't that another feature the iPhone lacks?
