Any news from Nokia when the official VC, CellC and MTN N8 PR1.1 updates will be released?

I am on Mtn and have it on my phone already, last week thursday I think...

good luck with vodacom, by the time they work in the vodafone crap into the update everyone else will be using PR2.0

Is there a way to get rid of that vodafone crap animation? I read somewhere that nokia can do the update for you, is this true?

you'd probably need to hack your whatchamacallit ID/region code on your N8, then the over-the-air update would deploy fine via Nokia.
i've changed my code to a UK one for my N95 and loooong ago had latest firmwares.... minus Vodacom spam.

Just read that the only way to "upgrade" the firmware is to flash the phone, the watchamacallit ID/region code hack does not work on the N8... And the region code for my phone is exactly the same as the one Nokia has for New Zealand!!! wtf Vodacom, wtf???

N8 Update

There is an update spreadsheet available on conversations.nokia.com which lists the progress. The vodacom 059D2N9 product code has been changed from New Zealand to SA and is scheduled for release next week.

Thanks, guess Vodacom will always be last to update their firmware thanks to their useless vodafone crap... *&%^&@##*

I debranded a C5 and C6 recently following steps that was given with an N8 as example. Worked perfectly.

I'm getting very frustrated with the N8. It reboots itself way too often. The photos on my friend's SE Satio looks way better and now the VC delay on the firmware that I'm hoping will fix the reboot issue. I should've settled with a Samsung D-500.

Danie download Phoenix 2011 and get navifirm to download PR1.1. My N8 is working awesome.

Just take it to a Nokia centre near you, they will put on a stock PR1.1 woth none of that Vodacom ish for FREE lol.

Agreed! Vodafone's custom firmware is enough to make me not buy their phones.

The update to PR 1.1 did not help me rebooting problem. Phone is much better on PR 1.1 but still not stable. :-(

You tried a hard reset - Three Finger Salute format ? Just read up alot on it, deletes the QT files and OVI maps and OVI store will need to be reinstalled to say the least. PM me for a link for more info.
