Nokia N95 @ Vodacom??

Where can I find some help to set the phone up for mail and internet.
155 at vodacom told me to phone 1082 who told me they dont have a config for the phone :eek: They said I must phone Nokia 24/7 number 0861166542, I gave up there after holding for over 20 minutes.
anyone, it is a vodacom vlive handset
 
@Sneeky, it should have all the internet settings already pre-loaded. The mail settings will depend on your ISP.
 
Thinkingb about settings... when I flashed my phone with the new firmware, I did not have to download any settings, but they are there. Are the settings save on the sim card? don't think so.
 
question for the VODAFONE N95 owners , do you find any "play / movement" WRT the slider , i have come across a number of them with the slider having excessive play on the right hand side .

Well Yeah they did stock up by the looks of it maybe in the Region of 25000 or more :)
Always VodaWorld has to stock up for there specials.. It's a marketing stragery to get more clients to sign over to Vodacom. It's not right about to New Contract. Vodacom Subscribers.. They should of had an update on this phone but I think its the R202 connection fee.
Now I've to change my number and give it to everyone and cancel my other contract and migrate to Pre-Paid.. Anyone havbe any idea how much this cost ??? Oh yeah did anyone get there sms yet regarding there Mango Tickets..

The car wash for saturday. I collected my phone on Friday.... I did ask :P I can take them to ASA for not stating that :P

Well who using to receive the mail, what ISP (internet service provider) It's simple setting it up :p just make sure to set up a mail like example mobilepaul@ as if its normal e-mail it'll flood ur e-mail and use tons of data.

The access points on the Vodacom Vlive dont work at all. They all point to Vodafone live (Europe) settings, shoddy work by Vodacom to not check such basic settings before handing over the phones.

However you can go to Nokia Support website and download all the 3 settings for MMS, WAP and Internet. You need to enter your operator as Vodacom and provide your cell no and the settings are sent by an SMS which needs to be saved. Or you can always edit your present access points to point towards vodacom sites

most Nokia phones come with a settings wizard for setting mail and internet points but Vodafone in their wisdom have removed this application in their branded phones.

Nope, not even a millimeter, and I must say to all those people who think Vlive is the devil...my phone has not given me one problem yet, my navigation is working accurately, not frozen once etc etc etc All I had to do is delete that bloody Mo pics from my phone and download a decent theme. Will wait for south african firmware upgrade as I dont want to void my warranty or turn it into a brick...

Have you used the wifi for internet browsing yet, to be honest other than major problems with wifi connection (which have been sorted now), neither did I have any problems with any other application.

I have a small amount of play up and down, and a small amount of twist anti-clockwise. Still trying to decide whether it is bad enough to warrant taking it back to complain. What I am worried about is that it gets progressively worse over time

I have a small irritation with my SMS log. It is showing surname then first name, and I would prefer to have first name then surname. The strange thing is that I have two sent messages, one is listed as 'Surname First name' and another to the same contact listed as 'First name Surname'. I have searched around for a setting, but can't find it any where.

My call logs display 'First name Surname'. Anyone having the same problems, or knows where a setting is?

Its in the phonebook settings. Stupid feature!! I also hate that you cant have a name and number option.
 
Like I said, my phone book is displaying correctly, but my SMS log shows back-to-front, well, some of them anyway.

Check your phonebook settings, if you transferred the numbers from another phone it saves the original name and surname under the surname tab, but if you added the name from scratch you enter the surname and name seperately. So if your setting is on surname/name the phone will show the numbers copied from another phone correctly but show the new ones added as surname first and then first name. so just change this in phonebook settings that it shows name/surname. Hope it help.
