Nokia N95 @ Vodacom??

Mr G, my point is simply that you're paying for the phone, even if you get it 'free' on a contract.

It's like playing at the casino, the house always wins, it would just not be good business otherwise. There's a very good reason why cellular operators are amongst the best performing companies in the country.
 
I totally understand what you are saying Vlad_M, however for myself personally, it would be easier to pay R315 per month on MTN ProCall 120 for 24 Months

R315 (total costs) x 24 = R7560

The Nokia N95 cost around R8500 at the time, im not sure what they going rate is at the moment, but it wont be lower than R7 500.

If I pay 315 per month over 2 years, I get the mobile and I get.

120 Anytime Voice Minutes
75 Video Call Minutes (once off)
300MB Data (once off)

- I will load a SMS 100 and 100MB Data bundle on there, but thats not really part of this specific deal.

Getting the handset on the MTN ProCall 120 contract with iTalk makes sense.

My Vodacom Talk 120 runs out in 3 months time which will the be canceled with nashua. Vodacom is getting my a similar amount from me anyways, might aswell pay MTN the same or slightly less and get a N95, technically free, based on previous expenses and usage.
 
Mr G, no arguments with your logic.

You know who am I talking about though - people who have 10 contracts in their name, just to get the 'free' phone.

Hopefully the new Credit Act will put a stop to this - sad however that the state has to resort to such Big Brother tactics to prevent people from making stupid financial decisions.

Everyones waiting for the price to drop and for it to become available on weekender or one of the cheaper packages. Everyone who can afford it already has one.
 
Its really surprising how many of my friends got this phone, the first time ive seen a mass purchase of handsets and them all buying the same phone.

Luckily my best group of friends are also the unlucky few that aren't in the bracket yet to afford one of these fantastic devices, so I can still brag ;)
 
I know little has been said about the new Nokia N95 on this forum (:D), but I must share this.

I became the proud new owner of a N95 today and believe me, not even the Scalextric set I received on Chrismas morning 1984 managed to exite me as much as this new toy.

If you have even the slightest doubt about this phone - rest assured - you will love it.
 
are there any firmware upgrades available yet that stops the phone hanging, tried my friends one and it crashed 2ce! the gps is also unreliable, sometimes doesnt pick up any satellites (outside)
 
its barely on the high end talk packages, OT i got mine mtn procall 120 for R0

The GPS is useless inside a car, only works outside, another feature i miss is fax, or even to beable to fax from windows, like the imate had

Have no major issues with GPS inside my car. Its not anywhere near my car's built-in SATNAV but so is the price!

Which has the best built-in GPS between Nokia and HTC?
 
the nokia 6110 has a much better gps than n95, and so its build quality,way better...
 
Want one, but don't want to pay R1400 - R2100 in on my upgrade. I think VC's R14bill NOP doesn't warrant my extra donation! =)
 
i think with the new 8GB version, our normal N95 should be available on weekender soon? if not already?
