Nokia N95

It might not be anytime soon since the Phone indicates that it has a Built in GPS as standard, so Nokia is going to have to get Maps for South Africa and all the Major Towns prior to releasing it here, that is one of the main applications of the phone (Besides off course GSM).

hmm what about those smart2go maps from nokia's "maps" program?? those would be adequate i'd think?

or am i seriously mistaken???

Hi, the smart2go app comes pre-installed on the N95 so maps not a problem.

Prices of N95

OK, was at MTN and Vodacom this morning latest news is end of the month otherwise beginning april sometime. Vodacom had at least a dummy phone, DROOOOOL, and MTN had some proposed prices, so here goes:
Mycall 100 :R 3,019. Procal 120, 150, 220, 300 600 1000 all is R 1499  you have to pay in, but they are getting new prices beginning april, so it could go up or down. N93 you have to pay in R999 on procall packages. Not very happy about the price, but it is adamn nice phone. Will have to make a plan...

Sooo, anyone want to buy a Nokia 8910i (titanium) for .... I dont know say ... R 1499.... :D

Spoke to MTN guy estimated cash price for Nokia N95 is between R9000 and R12000.

its not AVAILABLE yet but the prices are. lol if u want N95 on mycall 100 you hav to pay in R5000 once off lol

Where do you guys get these prices from??

In Sonic's Post he says that it will be R3019 on a Mycall 100 and R1499 on a Procall 120 etc and up.

In Reaper21's Post he says that it will be R5000 on a Mycall 100.

Adamr says that he spoke to someone at MTN telling him that the cash price for the N95 will be between R9000 and R12000.

I hope you guys take the names of the people you speak to when you call the service centres.

The R1499 on Procall 120 is definately correct because that's the price I got from 3 different people at MTN and from MTN headquarters. The R9000 to R12000 can't be true. Why will MTN give the N95 on a Procall 120 for R1499 if the purchase price is R9000 - R12000 and for the HTC Tytn that sells for R6000 you have to pay in R2000?

Doesn't make sense.

damn i cant wait for this phone to arrive!, April seems like a year away!

What gets me going is, since September we've been seeing everyone estimate it at $700 / 550 Euro, which converted to local currency comes out around R5500 give or take a bit for the exchange rate...

And now the local stores are talking R900 - R12000....

Is it just me or does that reek of rip-off???

IMO those local stores are just trying to make a quick buck from the people that cant wait till it's officially released, i think it should be around 6500-7500.

one store is quoting it for 13000!!! thats just crazy
