Nokia reveals new map app called HERE

Call me a skeptic.

I haven't seen anything that was inaccurate about google maps while I was using it, so I'll need some proof of that (from personal use)

As a developer I found the API for google maps way better. I can easily integrate it into my app and even use its activities to handle special event data.

No other navigation apps comes close to its accuracy, speed, ease of use and features.

Google Maps is terrible in Italy...

The point I'm trying to make is that everyone is over reacting with maps, most are "good" enough and I personally haven't had any problems with google maps.

Yeah, I can probably go and use nokia maps, but it feels like you guys are trying to convince me its the best thing since sliced bread, something radical that no other provider will be able to beat.

I hate having to be online with these maps all the time, and I was excited to hear Nokia maps on different platforms, until I noticed you have to be online for "Here" as well (Most of the time).

That sucks.

I use Navgon btw for maps. (Came with my S2)

I don't think anyone of you can persuade me that nokia maps is the best, its just different...

With Here, you can download the maps for your area enabling offline mode

What is significant is the amount of detail that the two types of maps have.

Here clearly has more detail. With detail comes accuracy because you need to be more on the ground to get detail.

Google is beaten here in this ad hoc (by accident) test which I did - clearly. Notice that the Ontdekkers [service] Rd that connects with the roundabout from Princess Crossing is not even recognised in Google while it is in Here.

This is hands down.
