How to rent scuba equipment

But doing it this way, there are going to be 1000 posts reflecting all the threads in the sub-forum. I feel that the mods should go through the threads and evaluate the validity of all of them based on the competition criteria.

Yes I really agree with this. Moderators should have good enough judgement to decide, and their decision should just be final and unquestioned.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. There should have been some way of deciding, even it being randomly. Shouldnt be where people just nominate and then all the threads, and others that aint valid for this competition, end up being in this thread.

Agreed, but if this thread cuts down the possible options even by a little bit, it'll make the problem of picking "The best" a little easier.

Unfortunately, if there's a thread that got buried, or nobody looked at it ( And the owner doesn't post it here ), it might be overlooked, when it could have won.

I nominate my post on ingenious ways to light a fire at home without firelighters as it ticks the following boxes.

I thought this was pretty original :D

MyBroadband is the premier destination for South Africans to find help with broadband, telecoms and IT issues. However, it has also become a great place to find answers to non-IT related questions.
Which I understood to mean that the solutions should be to non IT related issues.

Opel Monza thread!

Otherwise, DJ's etoll threads.

I think that random would have been a little unfair. Perhaps a random check, but the selected post will have had to be constructive. If not, random again. That'll invalidate the people who posted just for the sake of trying to win. Issue with this, is that for example in my thread, I posted 11 or so times, I think, even if it was on the same topic.

Picking a winner for a prize of this magnitude needs a lot of thought, otherwise people are going to complain. ( And let's be honest, people are going to complain no matter which thread is picked. I personally feel that my thread had the richest content, but no doubt that'll be the case for anyone who put effort into the post. )

You've seen the schitstorm that the subforum has become, though. I understand why nominations have been requested.

With comprehension skills what they are only a few threads are going to qualify at the end of the day. :)

I understand where you are coming from. Step 1 should be to take all valid posts and work with that.

Please post a how to on how to nominate how-to threads? ;)

It's all in the OP

Hi there

Can you please nominate threads or posts in this forum which you think added the most value? Hence, which threads, posts do you think should be shortlisted to win the PS4?

Please post your nomination in this thread (please include the URL).
In this, the Questions and answers, Problems and solutions, forum…

If a thread is not in this, the Questions and answers, Problems and solutions, forum it does not qualify.

These threads provided the most useful information which I can actually use (and they're not mine):

- How to clean mould and soap scum
- How often should I wash my dog? - I don't have dogs, but I didn't know what most people mentioned there.

These threads are mine, yet I feel helped me with decisions or helped me with advice for the future:

- Where to find 100% cotton bed linen
- How does a house become affordable
- Should I attempt the Keto diet
- How to benefit from Income Tax / Efiling. Most of the useful stuff I found myself.
- How do you budget?
- Why did my bonsai tree die?.

Then, in terms of posters (these are all I could remember that made any significant contributions):

- cbrunsdonza, for his knowledgeable answers in my cotton thread. Here is one of them.
- SauRoNZA (three nominations), for his advice on buying a house in my "How does a house become affordable" thread, investment advice he shared in my "How do you budget" thread and lastly, his posts in my "Why did my bonsai tree die" thread.
- Stefanmuller for his contribution to the "Why did my bonsai tree die" thread.
- DJ..., for his advice on the Keto diet.
- mr_norris, myself - blowing my own horn here, but I spent ages reading income tax documents and composing that thread :P
- PsyWulf, for his advice for fixing my faulty GPS on my phone in the Samsung Galaxy S2 and GPS problems thread.

Edit: I feel as though I missed out on a lot of people though :/

Exactly. I agree as well. They should look at how relevant the thread is to what Mybroadband members are asking/want to see. This is a really bad way of judging.

Read that a bit differently. It's just a comment to say that there are answers to non-IT related questions, not an instruction to not post IT related threads.

To enter:

Post your “Question and answer” or “Problem and solution” in this forum
Multiple entries are allowed

The instructions themselves don't mention what content qualifies, so the assumption is that all content does.

This is going to be interesting to see how they decide the winner. Whoever the winner maybe, on whatever grounds, is going to be one very happy person.

Big ups to mybb for giving away such an amazing prize.

My votes go to mr_norris for the following reasons:

1. His thread on finding cotton, and hist post on what he'd found and for how much: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...-bed-linen?p=11979339&viewfull=1#post11979339

2. His thread on attempting the Keto diet: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/591375-Should-I-attempt-the-Keto-diet?highlight=

3. His thread on benefiting from income tax. I found quite a bit of useful information there: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/589967-How-to-benefit-from-income-tax-efiling?highlight=

4. His thread on how does buying a house become affordable: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...s-buying-a-house-become-affordable?highlight=
