Damn straight! There's going to be one rediculously happy person when this competition is decided. I figure it's almost R10k worth of winnings, considering the price of a standalone console plus 5 games.

That, and it'll set a new bar for competition post quality. Expect people to be putting in a whole bunch more effort into their posts after this one.

After being on many forums and many many Facebook competition, voting system never works, it always back fires. I feel a panel of independent judges should have the last say.

I agree, I think voting is a bad idea, but nominations aren't neccessarily. The mods/panel should also have their own shortlists to add to this one.

The instructions themselves don't mention what content qualifies, so the assumption is that all content does.

it would be unfair to now suddenly judge threads/topics for their worth to readers. If you give an example like "where to find the best bread", isn't that indicating that the subject matter for winning wouldn't be IT-based only? I think you should have a random winner for all the threads that qualify. I certainly would've come up with a better thread if this nomination system was mentioned in the competition rules.

So whatever happens, here is my entry, which I nominate, cause I want to win that PS4.
