Non-homogenized Pasteurized Milk

My gf's father runs a dairy farm and sells his raw milk to the local spaza shops for around R6 per litre. He says in the last +-15yrs hes not heard of anyone getting ill from drinking his unpasteurized milk. Though he does regular testing before the milk exits the dairy.

It's terrible the way the big dairy guys and the retail outlets are fixing the prices. If he had to sell to say Clover he said he would get +-R3.50 per litre. So he rather sells the milk directly and takes the knock in the winter when demand is lower. Also anything unsold at the spaza shops he takes back and has to pour down the drain.

I also heard though if you suck the milk out of a cows tit yourself the milk tastes completely different aswell, im not sure why but i can confirm with you ?

That's probably not very hygienic, for you or for the cow. The next best thing is drinking it just after it's been collected - when milk is still warm. It's delicious.

And there I almost got excited after the first 2 words.

Ive never heatd of anyone sucking milk out of a cows teats. I have milked a cow and the teats are very pliable... you can aim for your mouth with a little creativity...

but sucking he teat... I point you to the above post.

Lol haha, i love to see peoples reactions when i say that, come on now , i wouldnt go suckle on the cows teat but ill definitely be using some man powered device like say a bicycle you can ride while it pumps milk out would be awesome !

Anyway is IreneDairy & Mooberry Farms the only two places in Gauteng that sell raw milk ? I could do with some raw powerfull milk in my body !

PnP @ Waterfront is selling non-homogenised (but still pasteurised) Jersey cow milk.
R22/2l.

edit: Langvallei Jersey Farm from Robertson "Jersey Full Cream Gold Top Milk".
I didn't see the "Gold Top", and if there was one, then it's long gone. Will have to pay more attention when I restock.

There's no point in your post, we talking about Non Homogenized & Non Pasteurized. Maybe try again.

Title says "Non-homogenized Pasteurized milk". Not "Non Homogenized & Non Pasteurized".
Suurtiet.

True. I started the thread looking for non-homogenized milk but felt that pasteurization was necessary until I understood the concept of raw milk and it's benefits.
Apparently you need a special license to sell raw milk.

Yep. Only problem is that in the tea it seems to whiten it less than homogenized despite shaking the bottle vigorously and my wife has a problem with that.

Any ideas with this? I don't want to be buying normal milk just for my wife to make tea.

Also how do I make the butter?
