Hi guys,

I have been using WebAfrica as our offices backup connection just so there is some redundancy if something happens with our IS based main provider. Now that WA have moved over to IS I don't see the purpose of having two IS based products.

I am looking for a 25GB capped product, so far the options I am aware of are:

1. M-Web (can't find data packages bigger than 10GB)
2. Cybersmart (meh)
3. Afrihost (MTN - didn't have the best of experiences with them)
4. Telkom (the non existent service puts me off immediately)

What other options do we have?

Autopage(Altech) backbone. It's business centric so rock solid.

I just get shivers when I hear Autopage. Will check out the adsl offerings though, thanks.

I know their cellular service is horrid, but their ISP side is a lot better. Used to be handled by a different company till they got bought by Autopage.

Get 100GB for R50.00 from Axxess today.
They give you full bandwidth even when the price is pro-rata.
Now that is cool! Never seen that before ;)

MTN use multiple cable systems I believe to ensure redundancy. Newsletter info I got from Axxess in January...

Yep, I had an extremely horrible experience with Afrihost when they moved to MTN. I won't touch that network for a while, at least until they've shown to be consistently reliable for a period of time.

Just use 1 connection with openweb if there is a problem they will switch you to another backbone in under 10 minutes.

Not exactly the solution I'm looking for. I am happy with OpenWeb but I want a completely independent provider and backbone as redundancy.

Does anybody know if M-Web does bigger data packages than 10GB?

2. Cybersmart (meh)

Huh? What does "meh" mean? Are you too lazy to use them? Even though i know nothing about Cybersmart, for someone looking for alternatives and then giving a "meh" as reason for not using them sounds like you're just being nitpicky for the sake of it.

They don't have as great reputation on myBB, if you think they deserve an opportunity then convince me.

Telkom Business
Have you had a look at them ?
Different to the consumer branch

Somebody from the business department put the phone down in my ear the other day. The only products I will be getting from Telkom are the ones I cannot get anywhere else.

We all know that the front desk is where they put people that cannot do anything else
A PM or two on here should get you sorted
