Nootropics

So is this what the cool kids are doing nowadays? How do you'll know its working or is it just the widely known placebo effect?I was just in the other thread talking about unregulated supplements but now we have to worry about unregulated brain boosters.

Well I'm never touching Phenibut. Stuff seems properly addictive judging by reddit stories.

Passionflower seems to help people with anxiety and restless sleep. It's a mild effect tho, but if you combine it with rubbing some relaxing oils (lavender, rosemary, chamomile) on your temples / wrists and do just a couple minutes progressive relaxation & breathing exercises it all adds up.
Ended up picking up some anti-histamines while in SA. Quick google suggests it can cause cancer though so no suitable for anything but emergencies...

Just ordered Pramiracetam, Choline and melatonin....will see how that goes. Was expensive though...like 50 USD so the effective will have to be noticeable for that to be repeated.

Arrived. Difficult to tell on the 'racetam thus far. Too sleep deprived & caffeinated today to say either way. Plus the dosage seems low compared general internet chatter, but thats fine as I plan on taking it long term so don't want anything too hectic.

Melatonin will be easier to tell if it works...super stressful week coming up so sleeping will be a battle.

Any reviews or opinions (positive/negative) with regards to Lions Mane?
Interesting.

Used once a week I haven't noticed even the slightest withdrawal. I really is some of the best sleep I've had. If I take it at around 16:00 I'm very relaxed & in a good mood that evening - enough that I don't even consider cracking open a beer to chill. Sleep onset is quick and I wake up feeling really good. Not something I'd do every night, but it's a nice treat a few times a month to have that baby-like sleep.

Most racetams seem to make me feel worse if I'm stressed / anxiety. If I use oxiracetam on a saturday when I'm relaxed it feels a whole lot different to taking it Monday morning when I've got a load of stuff to get through. Recall reading something about cortisol & adrenal function (also affected by caffeine) not coupling too well with piracetam.

Its the withdrawal I'm concerned about not the effectiveness. There was a dude on reddit that was experience sheer panic because he only had 24 hrs supply and couldn't get more for 72+hrs. Like the kind of panic you see with "real" druggies when they can't get hold of their fix.

Sure that was a pretty high dose and is just 1 case...but that story tells me thats something I don't need to try...

hmm...yeah maybe. Will see how it goes.

I did notice much less racing thoughts yesterday night though - not sure if thats connected to either the racetam or melatonin though (or neither)

do you have some affiliation with upgradedself?
Nope.
They do provide lab analysis results for most products on their page. Beyond that send them an email & ask for further info.

Not sure if it's been posted already, but where can I get Modafinil/Provigil without a prescription?

Locally - your best chance is to find a chemist that'll dispense it. They aren't cheap though - I think around R60 per 100mg pill. Else yeah - try importing.
Thanks, but this is a drug for narcolepsy not for making you smarter,

or am I confusing the same things?
It promotes wakefulness. You don't really feel the drug, it's more just that you don't feel tired at all. And without all the typical stimulant like side-effects. I still eat well throughout the day and manage to sleep the night after using it.

always, but that drug that there is a link for is for sleep disorders

not increasing memory or anything else,

thats why Im confused, what exactly is that for...

I've been using Provigil 100mg on/off for the last two years. I use it to stay alert and helps with concentration. Some days I can sit 5 hours without even lapsing in concentration.
I usually take 1-2 tablets per week as I don't feel the need to take daily, I feel as if the effects of the tablet last for days. I have had no side-effects that are obvious other than the ability to fall asleep. When I do take Provigil I take 1 tablet around 5am with some food and water. I find I am able to wind down for sleep around 10pm. I receive the Provigil on script usually through Dischem. I last paid R1300 for 30 tablets.

Why not just get a script. Its not scheduled that high so your dr. will give it to you if you tell him you fall asleep constantly during the day and want to try it as its safer than large amounts of coffee.

Just be warned depending on your metabolism it may interfere with sleep. I felt perfectly fine and very awake for a couple of days then the effects of sleep deprivation like forgetfulness and bad coordination started to kick in. If it was not for that it would be my permanent replacement for methylphenidate.

yoh everyone on the Modafinil train it seems. You guys are hardcore...
Get with it!
(I only use it if I travel. It's not something I'm particularly keen on using with any kind of regularity.)
