"I know that the North Koreans are evil... If you ever see footage of them on television, it's always in black and white, because the people of North Korea have lost their colour. That's when you know a country is evil, when the people have lost their colour." - Lewis Black (Rules of Enragement)

In the modern era, wars have been driven by big companies, oil and religion. WMD is a front and proved to be the easiest way into Iraq. American corporations are losing billions to China, and it is causing much friction there. Nobody really knows what the Chinese are up to. The fact that the world pretty much turns a blind eye to the extremely appalling disregard of human rights in China also supports my theory that the US are not sure how to deal with China.

Which wars?

Whereas NK, with nukes - means the US is facing up against a country on roughly the same playing field. And this is something that - despite all the gung-ho macho stuff - that the US has never (not since WW2) had to deal with.
Um what happened to the Cold War?

Plain fact: america has never (after ww and cold war) fought a war to win. Winning at all costs means totally obliterating a country - which america could do to NK in 24 hours remotely. But China would be a little upset.

Instead we have america *****footing around wars - witness Iraq - no war is winnable unless you prepared to go all the way. (the libs lesson for the day!)

Saber rattling and concern for SK (and the rest.)

Sanctions would starve them to death in a month.

And what is North Korea really going to do with the A Bomb? Nothing because it cannot deliver it as a threat to anybody else apart from itself. Once the midget passes away there is not going to be a NK that is united but one that is going to go in civil war. The midget is only trying to show his ability to his people in a deviance attempt to smite his opponents – “see I did it – **** ho me” .
The International markets hardly lifted an eyebrow on the news. No profits to be made – what can a self destructing NK have that would cripple the world economy if it stops existing. Next move is China is just going to annex NK and that is it. End Midget and longer grain China Rice.

In fact I would rather see China getting velly wollied about the brother doing the not so Mao thing. Watch it – China is going to be the next ‘world peace keeper’

And while India brushes up the tech side – it becomes a worthwhile allay to colonize Africa – take note – it has already begun.

Yeah let's all live in a wonderful Communist society where you'll have an amazing firewall to 'block' you from seeing all those 'naughty' websites. No more conspiracy theories will ever be seen (maybe that's a good thing...hmm).

The irony of this of people who hate America [and what it stands for] is that America fought for liberty and allows YOU to air your views without fear of being detained in jail - whether it be pro or anti America.

China is not a healthy place to live in...nor having a system imposed by them.

SA is the only country ever to have voluntarily dismantled a nuclear weapons programme: SA's Nuclear history. Also, the Vela Incident is a very interesting read.

Thanks for the link.

Rather interesting to note we also had a ICBM program in the works to deliver said nuclear warheads.

According to published data one of the missiles, the RSA-4, may have been capable of delivering a 700 kg nuclear warhead from its South African launch site to any point on earth.

Maybe we should do some nuke testing in SA and in the process blow SA to pieces.

Oh I forgot we dont have the brain power to do this... and the nuke probaly would be disected and stolen before it had time to explode

South Africa has been developing Nukes for about 30 years but it was ceased with the nuclear treaty

True.

And if the North koreans have detonated a bomb who are we to point fingers?

See the Vela Incident 27 years ago and subsequent tests mentioned on Wiki entitled, South Africa and weapons of mass destruction.

What one can deduce from our own Nuclear Program at the time is that Israel has Weapons of Mass Destruction.
This not news, but where does one draw the line. Who should and who shouldn't own Weapons of Mass Destruction?
It is like the pot calling the kettle black.

I sincerely hope North Korea acts sensibly and do what De Klerk did with our own Nuclear Weapons Program.
It may take a while, but I am sure they will realise that having Nuclear Weapons is not going to make them more powerful, just more dangerous.

Huh? Several countries have nuclear weapons, including the US, China, Russia, India, Pakistan and several others.

What is with this sick notion that all countries are fair game when it comes WMD  . It reminds me of those who sold atomic secrets to Stalin justifying it by saying they wanted a counterweight to America as the sole superpower. The fact that they gave atomic weapons secrets to possibly the biggest mass murderer of all time didn't seem to bother them. .

This is exactly the problem - America today under GB - is not the same america - that stood for all these great things. I love america - hate GB - and his policies - which have destroyed america's image in the world.
