Norton 360 or 2007

Is this the anitvirus thing?

Actually, anything with the word Norton should be avoided.

So, neither.

Guys around here will say diff things. But never Norton.

AVG - i've been using for 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 years, or something like that.

Nod32 if you want the best and you are willing to pay. Else I use Avast.

Stay away from Norton. AVG is good,so is the free Avast option. Quite a few of my customers use and are happy with Bit Defender(Not Free).

For a standalone anti-virus NOD32. For an all in one product Eset Smart Security.

I was a beta tester for Norton 360, what a crud program.
Nod32 is the best, enough said!
Anything ESET made is great ;)

Stay away from Norton and McAfee

I BETA tested Norton 360 and quite liked it. It is a bit heavy on system resources. It has some nice features like online backup etc. I use Mcafee at home and am quite happy. It uses a lot of RAM but I never use more than 700 megs out of my 2 gigs and I don't game so I don't mind that it does.

700 Megs out of 2GB??? Any anti-virus that uses 35% of your resources is a virus!

[edit]I've just checked my resource use... AVG is using less than 15MB of memory, my software firewall is using 8MB and Spybot memory resident is using 20MB.. total less than 50MB. 700MB is a hog of note.

edit 2 - aaah, I re-read your post. Sorry...scratch my point above. It's you that never uses more than 700MB! how much does McCafee use?

Lol. I wondered at your post. It is using 53 megs at the moment. I have everything installed so it is the web filter, backup monitor and then the anti-virus, anti-spyware and system guards. The max I have seen it use is 70 megs when it is in the background. It is more than others but I have the spare RAM and I like the backup and system guards ;-) Nod32 was faster on my PC but I personally like Mcafee...
