There's the difference. They're considering it - we're suffering from it.Yet another American ISP is toying with the idea of a ridiculously low bandwidth cap
I wonder what they would think of Telkom's 3gb caps. The Reg sees no problem with bandwidth caps - as long as they're reasonable. And a 5GB limit is not.
I still can't understand some people trying to justify Telscums ridiculous caps and prices ..... boggles my mind![]()
As an employee of the company who is imposing these caps on us your intention must be to justify them. Not trying to justify, just indicating that we are not the only country with caps.

There is a HUGE difference in the cap though and also pricing. Not trying to justify, just indicating that we are not the only country with caps.
new customers to choose a monthly bandwidth cap of 5-, 20-, or 40GB. Pricing plans range from $29.95 a month for a 5GB cap and 768kbps download speeds to $54.90 for a 40GB cap at 15mbps, and anyone who exceeds their cap is charged an extra $1 per gigabyte.
America's second largest ISP is mulling a plan that would cap user downloads at 250GB a month. Under the plan, users would not be penalized if they crossed that 250GB threshold once during a 12-month period, but if they did it again, they'd be charged $15 for every 10GB beyond the magic number.
Don't be an 4rse. I read the article on the register and posted it here just to indicate that we are not the only ones with caps.

Well because it desputes your threads subject line..Never disputed this. Why does everyone think that I am trying to??
A point we all know to well.... All we did was point out that there is a difference in the caps... and not a small one at thatAll he did was post to let us all know that it is not only SA who cap, simple, simple.

No. Your service will not be interrupted at 5Gb. You will continue to use our High Speed Internet service without disruption.
this made me smile a bit.... perhaps it might be worth paying for 5 analogue lines, dialing up with bonded connections and then enjoy reaping in the benefits of a high usage cap at low speeds![]()
That would only work in the USA where local is free in certain places.. Try that here, and you will be looking at a phone bill from hell.this made me smile a bit.... perhaps it might be worth paying for 5 analogue lines, dialing up with bonded connections and then enjoy reaping in the benefits of a high usage cap at low speeds![]()
